> I looked at your example and my math followed pretty close to that except I was doing it for a 1/2 oz bottle which I found to have 15 mL inside. That’s about half of the sprays that will be in the 30 mL which would be 200/2. So 100 sprays per 15mL.
>
> Problem is the bottle has one of those dabbing things and not a spray head. Curses! 😠
>
> I already had something in one of my bottles and dabbed it on to my wrist to see how it looked in comparison to a spray. I think perhaps 1-2 dabs would be sufficient to a spray, but of course it’s not at all accurate. I’m either going to try to work with this or see if I can find a spray bottle (preferably one that isn’t only 5mL)
>
> I did the math tho and it looks like I’ll need 8 sprays to get the right amount of effects from each component. 8 sprays sounds like a lot so I may only use 4 sprays and spray an intensifier with it.

Testing is all about repeatability. So anything is alright as long as you can repeat it without adding too much error into it. The dabbing thing might be a problem since it is so hard to control.

I actually like the 5 ml bottles because they are so easy to slip in my pocket. And I keep a kit of all the current molecules I’m testing. I just pull up my spreadsheet, locate the mix I want and spray into the same bottle. I’ve had one bottle going for about 3 months… I don’t know how many times I’ve refilled it.

Of course you could get a 30 mL spray bottle and mix up enough to fill that and then just pour that into a 5 ml spritzer… but I like to change things up too much and that is a lot of product to dedicate to one test mix…

Androtics has both empty 5 and 30 ml spray bottles for sale under mixing supplies.

Thats true. I do like the to-gos convenient size. I’ll probably just put everything in my 15mL and then transfer from there

Yes. The EST from lovescent is 1 mg/ml concentration and it comes in a 10 ml volume. That is equivalent to 150 mcg/spray if you transfer it straight to a spritzer like the 5 ml To Go’s.

So, I add 20 ml of perfumers’ alcohol to this and that gives me a final concentration of 50 mcg/spray.

If you wanted a 25 mcg/spray dilution, you would add 50 ml of perfumers’ alcohol to the 10 ml of EST instead of 20 ml.

Since the effective dosage is around 60-75 mcg/spray, you would want to dilute it to keep from wasting product.
