I have really noticed more and more that when wearing A314 I willingly take more shit. I’m not saying I let people walk over me, but sort of. It’s hard to explain, but it’s a feeling of I don’t really care what your saying about me or to me and most of the time I get a chuckle out of it. The reaction I then get is usually amazing…sometimes an apology…sometimes a stunned looked. It has a very relaxing effect on me. The reason I post this is because I recently went to work and this guy was totally getting under my skin and I couldn’t put a finger on it until I realized I wasn’t wearing A314 and then this epiphany dawned on me. Anyone else have these results!!!

Sounds like a self effect of confidence boost. A lack of approval seeking and indifference to things that don’t matter. Since self effects can wane over time with prolonged use try and capitalize on it now. Realize on a conscious level that what the person says ultimately is irrelevant to you. Make a mental note of your own behavior when you have felt this way and how they react when they see you being unreactive. And practice “observing ego”. When you feel somebody pushing your buttons. Remind yourself how little their opinions or words can effect you and act accordingly.
You want this feeling to become so natural that even when you forget to use your mones, or if and when you start noticing the self effects diminishing, you’ll still maintain that dominant indifference.

Yep!! I definitely noticed this as a self effect. Thing was I always thought that Alpha males didn’t take much crap and were more aggressive, until I started taking A314. Then I noticed things didn’t bother me. Anger became easy to manage. Not only that, but when some one tries to crack a joke on me or smarts off about something about me I not only laugh but I continue with the joke as if it were mine. I literally take all of the credit for making everyone laugh. It’s like not only am I not phased, but if you try to attack me you just reinforce how awesome I really am.

Now I just need to practice that even when I’m not wearing A314 like Radman said. That way I’m not reliant on something external, but have internalized these self effects.

Yea, this is actually one of my favorite aspects of A314. I just don’t really care what people think… I mean, I care what they think or feel, but things don’t get me down and I’m never looking for people’s approval anymore. If people approve, so be it, if not soooo be it. I’ve noticed me changing in this way lately even when not wearing the A314. Just goes to show you that this stuff can help you make good changes for yourself that are more permanent than just self effects! 🆒

I had somewhat of a similar experience this past weekend. Somebody started to try and argue with me but I just walked away and ignored them. At the time I thought, “hey, you are acting Beta,” but perhaps in retrospect I wasn’t. I don’t think I have had enough time with A314 to really say one way or another if I was walking away with confidence or sheepishly avoiding confrontation.

Man, I really love you guys.

Rad, can you describe “observing ego” a little more in depth. I googled the phrase and came up with some ideas, but I’m not sure exactly how to do it. Is it just an introspection that happens while we act to make the unconscious conscious? I assume that there must be some introspection that occurs beforehand as well in order to see and feel what exactly it is that we are observing.

Observing Ego is a term used by Dr. Paul Dobransky in his book/program MindOS. You can think of it as a third eye, you must use to look at yourself. This way you can correct your behaviour and/or thinking patterns to a more favourable kind. E.g. It is important to live ‘now’. You cannot change the past (regret) and you can do very little to change the future (anxiety?). I myself am often regretting stuff I fucked up in the past. At that moment, using observing ego, I can say to myself:" Stop regretting the past, Bolkie, you have no influence over it anyway. So it is futile spending energy on it. Now get of the couch and have fun !"

Apart from the the book MindOS, Dr. Paul also explains all of this in David DeAngelo’s dvd program ‘Inner Game’. That program is basically run/taught by Dr. Paul. This is not so much PUA material, but they are more lessons on becoming a better, stronger and happier man.

I have watched this ‘Deep Inner Game’ dvd series(own it) numerous times over the last yr or so and think I’m going to tonight. Have yet to read the Mind/OS and think my next purchase is going to be that book. I love “Observing Ego”. The whole energy portion is awesome and his views on anger. The list of books that David D lists in this series is quite lengthy. Have yet to read any. Has anybody read any!?!?!?!

Deep Inner Game is one of my favorite series…the first part of the seminar was a bit boring, but once they got into the meat of it I couldn’t stop watching it. I was listening to the tool kit for days. I’m gonna have to pull that out again, some great stuff in that series.

And have you checked out MindOS? I’ve been wanting to, I’ve got so much other crap on my plate right now, I just need to get through all this before I even look at it again.

I am actually halfway through both ‘Deep Inner Game’ and MindOS. I am reading/watching them parallel. The book has very nice illustrations (mind maps). The anger map and anxiety map are printed out and on my fridge (next to Radman’s 10 commandments to avoid the friend zone 😛)

I am really curious about the warrior, king/queen, magician?..stuff that is coming up later I think.

You’ve got a PM.

If you want the “cliff notes” version get Mature Masculine Power, it’s basically the same book but with more direct focus on techniques and not so much on background and theory. I’d say you could start with that to get rolling, and then move on to the actual Mind OS stuff for a deeper level of understanding.
MMP=Teaching you how to drive
Mind OS=teaching you how and why the car works the way it does.

Simply put for the sake of the question though. It’s the practice of actually being consciously aware of yourself and what you do/say/feel and exercising control. To avoid being the person that simply RE-acts and later thinks “why did I do that?”, you’re the person that takes deliberate action. It’s not the same as being self conscious though.
