The guys above say the smell fades after about 1 hour or so. But I wonder whether that is because our noses become desensitised to it? I say that because last week I wore 1 drop in the morning and then 1 drop refresh at 3pm. Later that evening my flat mate came home and told me he could smell I was wearing A314.

Wow, that’s a long time for the diffusion to still be going strong.

I wonder what the weather is like in London. Over in Riverside, it’s burning hot, so I don’t expect anything to last longer than the couple hours I’m at school. I suspect London is much cooler during this time of the year, than Riverside, maybe even to the point of bundling up?

Wouldn’t that hinder/slow down diffusion to the point where it might last all day?

I think you might be right about that Phya. When its cold I notice slower diffusion, but all day does seem like a LONG time 🙂

I have been applying about 2-3 drops per application, on each side and front of my neck, and haven’t notice much from other people around me, but will keep experimenting with it. The only self effect I get is that it suppresses my appetite, which would be good for some people, but not for me, as I tend to be naturally thin and tall, and have to work hard to keep some weight on. So at this moment I am applying it on the back of my neck, to keep it away from my nose, and to prevent it from further suppressing my appetite. Hope that works though.

Anybody here notices the same self effect I’m experiencing?

I wish I had the same results as not feeling hungry. Oddly enough though I get that when I last tested P81. I could be completely off though as I only really had one experience with it like that. I was hungry, tried it, went out to eat, and then not at all hungry!

Lately I have been using 4 drops of A314. I still have to test it some more, but I believe I am getting more pronounced results. Usually though I have been wearing it with TAF though, so it just might be the TAF is causing more focus, thus I am able to see what was already there. All-in-all though the A314 is still at a higher dosage for me and still getting good results without any negatives.

Wow, already at v2.0?

Unless someone buys multiple bottles of A314, I don’t think we’ll ever really have a good chance to compare and contrast the different versions – they come out way too quickly, and A314 lasts a looong time.

At least we know how quickly these changes are occurring.

20, not 2.0

Might’ve been a typo of some sort. I’ll check on this.

Oh 20, that makes more sense. As in like, Version 0.20 (You know, computer style? .1 is minor update, 2.0 is a major update?)

Either way, you guys make so many changes. Have you guys been experimenting with many different subtle changes to scent? Or are you guys making adjustments with regards to the pheromones as well?

Version 1, revision 20.

This is like software of the mind and software of the social space (sociology software!), so we’re definitely inspired by computer software versioning.

However, we don’t do it exactly how they do it with computer software anymore, since we sometimes have to backpedal and learn from the actual changes. Unfortunately, you can’t always predict how positive a change will be, unlike software. That’s why we do the MX versioning system with liquids – to allow rapid prototyping and version split testing. (we’d do the same thing w/oils, but it takes forever to get through a dosed oil product)

We always try to make product better w/time, but sometimes revisions occur due to availability of chemicals. As more and more chemicals become off limits due to voluntary cosmetic regulations or the become illegal (often as a federal reaction to excessive use by sport dopers and bodybuilders), we have to find substitutes.

We also try to upgrade the product along the way. We take everything “bad” that happens as an opportunity for good. We’re the “Tear us down, and we come back stronger” type of company. 🙂

A314 actually changes very slowly, but the bottles last a long time. I think we’re up from revision 17 over the past year. Not too many revisions, really. But the revision MUST change w/ANYTHING that changes, because even the substitution of one musk for another could change how it works to some exten. That’s why we track everything. We’re trying to gather the data that the even fragrance companies should’ve been gathering the past 100 years, but simply haven’t.

The fragrance industry, for instance, still doesn’t have much of a grasp of the fact that some molecules make people tired. You mention this to them, and they act like it’s news or something. That’s the level they’re at, even the top end companies. They’re in the ice age of psychological affect.

Wow, cool stuff. You guys rock! 😃

Do you guys keep logs of which forum user ordered A314 and which version was sent out? And how do you differentiate the subtle differences through typed up reports off the forum (taking into account the natural differences in subjective view?)

At the very, very beginning, when things were done by hand and with spreadsheets.

Not after we switched to an official cart. We wish could have more automation, but we’d really need some sort of interconnect between the forum and cart itself, too. We’ve yet to fully get what we ask the programmers for. (we are having the cart rebuilt, btw)

That’s ok, though. It still works out. When we see an interesting result, we just ask them to read what’s on the version sticker on their bottle.

The incredible AI of human pattern recognition, when analyzing the forum data and our offline data.

Even though all reports are to some degree subjective, there’s still a lot of agreement about certain aspects of effect. When see a report change much from the consensus, we note it. If we keep seeing it, that’s a pattern worth exploring more.

This could all get more advanced w/time, but it’s incredible what people can do with a regular stream of data. Both teams, and even individuals.

Even when MHarris objectively swoops in and quickly analyses both the forum and offline data, it’s amazing what he can pick up on. Not everything he theorizes or tries works (of course), but he still has an incredible degree of success. He’ll still take a new formula and go out for multihour walks, expose himself to every different kind of person he can, in different contexts and venues, to try a mix. The little system he has worked out for his own testing lets him nail down a mix very quickly.

1 educated, impassioned individual seems to easily be able to outwork even 100 people who just have a job for job’s sake.

Now that I’ve been more involved in hiring, that’s why I try to discourage people from joining our team who aren’t really into it, and quickly get rid of the ones who snuck in (Zappos does this, too – they pay you to quit!) I remind them there’s plenty of jobs out there in the sea, and that they should get one they like, because everyone likes _something_.

Passion drives the world in positive directions faster than apathy ever will. We want people to show up mentally to work, not just physically. And get bottom line results, not put in hours.

Wow, that was a behind the scenes look that was unexpected and very appreciated. I’m a pretty curious guy, I’m always wondering how something works, and that means businesses too. I loved those cross section books when I was a kid.

So that’s what MH does eh? It couldn’t be any more clear how passionate MH is about this. We don’t hear from him not because he’s uninvolved, but much too involved. 😃

I might need to rethink my method of [pheromone](https://a314.com/shop/) testing, I guess I’m just gonna have to hang around the commons all day. Things will be easier next quarter since I’ll have more classes, and thus, be stuck on campus all day anyways. 🙂 I’d only consider multi-hour walks in SF/Bay Area, honestly..maybe the heat and burning sun in Riverside has something to do with that..

You know that’s been a big question on my mind for the last couple years (I’m sure I’m not the only one here. 😛) and I’ve thought about what it might be like to work in the pheromone field. More like day dreamed…either way, it’s interesting to know you hire on a regular basis. What positions have you hired for/plan on hiring, if I may ask?

i have version 18 batch 2 AKUTO. love the scent lasts almost all day.

havent really noticed any strong hits, been wearing it awhile at a minimum of 4 drops. all the hits I have noticed are verry subtle and took quite some time to occur(i.e. after wearing for weeks) i started noticing subtle differences in behavior in coworkers. however I do notice when worn with TUTH @ 4 sprays I get dihl from early to mid twenties females, sometimes.

I am looking for stronger hits in the TRUST aspect of the A314 as well as the respect. I can do sexy on my own.LOL

I am currently trying to get back with my ex. she is my highschool sweetheart, and there is a strong emotional and physical bond between us. I know for a fact she still harbors feelings for me , but I took her for granted one to many times and shit happened. now I am working on getting her to trust me again and allow herself to feel the feelings that she is trying not to feel for me. (slow process I know) which is why I am looking for more of an impact from A314, to help break down those barriers caused my my own insensetivites so she can see that I have realized the errors I have made and am working toward the goal of never making them again and being more sensetive.

she is 31 with 4 kids, works as a CNA
i am 34 no kids, working as a Security Officer.
