I’ve noticed, as with a couple other [pheromones](https://a314.com/), that being in the age group I am that A314 tend to be a little more standoffish than it should be. I wear 1 drop normally in my daily mix, for socializing, college classes, ect. I don’t have a job at the moment due to moving between towns and school, so I have no data on that. Every time I wear 2 drops or higher the standoffish effects start to kick in. I understand this is somewhat normal, but how does it work for an older user, or a younger user in an older crowd? Is it the age of the applicant or the age of the innocent victims…eh I mean bystanders? ---

People, seem hesitant to aporach you, nervouse, won’t look you in the eye. To clarify my question. Can older users wear 2 + drops without negative effects when in an older crowd? Can older users wear 2 + drops without negative effects in a younger crowd? Can younger users wear 2 + drops without negative effects in a young crowd? Can younger users wear 2 + drops without negative effects in an older crowd? ---

The questions are simple, but finding the answer for you can be complicated. It depends on the environment and what you consider “negative”. 🆒 You can (and often should) add more pheromone concentration as you get older as the amount of your natural pheromone output decreases somewhat with age. This varies from person to person. At a younger age, an OD is easier to hit. The right kind of OD is fun, the wrong kind can ruin your day. For example, nothing works better for me when I am interviewing someone who _may_ work for me than 4 drops A314, some IHx4 with a little CTTM2 on my fore arms. 😃 What seems to work best is to find the “sweet spot” for yourself and then layer other pheromones to create the desired effect - targeting the combo to your audience. It’s very much like cooking - you mix up the spices slightly to change the taste. For example, I wear an A314/IS/IH work mix daily. The IS/IH combo takes the A314 down a notch for social interactions. If I am going to hang with a younger crowd, I may add some IO and decrease the IH. Or go with CTTM2. ---

So you feel that it’s mostly age of wearer and not age of the person being affected as to result of the OD ---

My working hypothesis is that it’s a matter of congruence and believability, as well as “tempering” pheros. When I wear only A314 and nothing else, even using just one drop, I get a bubble of respect – people back off a little and give me some space, but if I engage them and interact, they are pleased and happy, and deferential. But I usually wear one drop of A314 and some alphanol, some [Instant Shine](https://a314.com/product/shine/), too. Sometimes I wear A314 and betanol. Then people act respectfully, but don’t back out of my space like I’m the King of Siam. The social pheros draw them in. I am all in favor of using pheros that pull / push people in opposite directions. It takes them out of the “business as usual” frame of mind, it establishes a creative tension. A314 with social pheros is a classic “tension” mix. But let’s suppose you’re wearing a couple or three drops of A314 with nothing to temper the effect. You’re young and producing plenty of -none naturally. With that pherocloud, you should be presenting yourself like the Prince of Monaco, or maybe like … say, Steven Spielberg doing a kick-off of a new film with a $100 million budget to his production team. Think “gravitas” and substance, and seriousness, and dignified demeanor. Not easy to do if you’re a poor (and poorly dressed) 19 year old freshman in college with a geeky haircut and slouchy posture and a lack of social graces and not much focus on the group dynamics of the people around you … So, if you are NOT acting congruently – if you are just be-bopping along, not being the alpha male, you will, I’d bet, get “scared-confused” reactions, and if it’s a strong enough signature and your actions just don’t match, people will tune you out: the ghost effect. ---

Hey Markl- I’m in your age bracket-60yo alpha 6’+ male- and sell furniture in a large store. I’ve been using 3 drops of A314 plus 2 sprays of IS-seems to help with my middle aged female buyers, but I’m curious as to the reactions other older males get with these combinations. I’m in a bit of a rut and looking to refine my signature. Thanx ---

Thanx My core day to day work recipe is one drop of A314 (@ neck meets chest) and one spray of Spaceland (@ back of neck) – I’m working to develop the effectiveness of a team of early-20’s to early-30’s; for me, in this circumstance, that recipe is just right. My younger colleagues ‘get’ the talk openly/fun+work vibe; communication flow is important to me being able to build this team’s capability. I’ve tried adding Instant Shine /2x/ (and I am a huge fan of Instant Shine); adding [Instant Honesty](https://a314.com/product/instant-honesty/) /4x/; replacing the Spaceland with Shine or Honesty … but without any noticeable advantage. ---

WOW!! -Spaceland?? I use 3 drops of A314 on wrists and 3 sprays of IS on neck/chest. I am selling furniture to middle-aged women and couples. I don’t think Spaceland would work for me, but I will revue the forums and see. I’ve tried Liquid Trust- not sure if I got that much better response. I’ve become rather casual about my new persona… boggles the mind what I would have done with this stuff when I was in my 20’s!!! ---

How does the old saw go? “Youth is wasted on the young…” I’m not recommending Spaceland for you, nevadak – it just happens to be right for me, given the age difference between myself and the team I’m working with. I thought that [Instant Honesty](https://a314.com/product/instant-honesty/) /4x/ would provide an additional layer of communication depth at work, but I don’t see it. I use both Instant Shine and Instant Honesty after work and really enjoy the effect socially – I especially like the play of Instant Shine off of the (much subdued) A314. I bet your middle-aged ladies find you intriguing…😉 ---

WOW- My impression of Spaceland would never have lead me to try such a product at work. I don’t have it, but it seems such a party item I never even considered it. Obviously you have a lot more experience than I have with this stuff. I am blind as a bat when it comes to IOI’s, but my sales are quite good. When I pick up on a “hit” it’s usually 15 minutes too late! I was absolutely flattened by a [pheromone](https://pheromonelabs.com/shop/) hit a couple of years ago, so I know how powerful this stuff can be. Go to the local beauty school for my haircut this week- love being surrounded by very interested young ladies!!😃
