So I am trying out the IO and I leave the gym (1hr or so workout) and I jump in the wife’s car and she says… you smell like alcohol??? I didn’t know if IO (2 sprays on the wrist about an hr before) or similar would smell like that if you didn’t know it was there. lol… thought i was busted, but played it off and was fine. And no, I do no drink alcohol (only on special social occasions) and I’d be dead if I tried drinking before a work out lol. This happen to anyone else? ---

The primary ingredient in IO is alpha androstenol, when you sweat alot the bacteria that is created can cause it to breakdown into Androstenone which to me does smell a bit like alcohol. This is what may of happened but its just a guess. ---

ehh the scent carrier is light and if you sprayed it recently the perfumers alcohol might have been a wee bit stronger smelling than the neroli. Sometimes I think I can smell the alcohol in certain prodcuts stronger than the neroli when I first spray it. ---

Yeah, the alcohol takes about 7-10 minutes to dry down and not be noticeable. This goes for most regular cologne too. ---

As you sprayed it on 1hr before meeting her maybe it was just the neroli scent mixed with sweat she could smell, to her nose this could of been similar to alcohol (did you shower straight after your gym session before meeting your wife). ---

Its way to crowded to try and shower (a line) so that wasn’t an option. Anyways i think its what you’re saying. I’ve put A314 on before jumping in the car with her (5 minutes) and not had this problem. Same with the TUTH (sprayed on in b-room , wait a couple minutes and walk out). This only happened this once with IO, just trying to see what i could do best to get around it. ---
