Ok so I am at the gas station this AM and I am thirsty. So I go in and get an energy drink. I come out notice that I do not have my credit card for gas so I go back in store to pay in cash. In the 6 minutes or so that this took two bees/wasps or whatever decided that they needed some energy too. So they went for a sip/dip in my energy drink. ☹ I had no idea that they were thirsty because I would have definitely waited for them to finish or gotten another one! So, needless to say one big gulp and two stings!😠 AND I am allergic. The hospital is right near the gas station (thank GOD) so I ran in and got my Epi and antihistamine shots. They took me first because I think they were afraid I would go into shock. My tongue is so swollen that I can’t talk and I sound horrible. My right eye is also swollen. DAMN I was supposed to start the MX134 experiment today.😛 So now I have an unexpected day off - which means it will be a very hectic and busy week. I hope this swelling goes down because I can’t imagine having to go to work looking or sounding like this! Just thought I would share - ALWAYS LOOK IN YOUR DRINK BEFORE YOU TAKE A SIP!😮 ---

Sorry to hear about that Lady D, I hope you feel better. Just be happy that there was a hospital nearby, having a swollen tongue. especially with 2 bites and be deadly since your tongue could give you a hard time to breath. ---

best of luck, and a speedy recovery to you. Having been stung many times and I am not allergic, but several times, when nailed on my face I swelled up like Elephant-man. I grew up on a farm and working in the hay field, there were always hornets or ground bees around. My boss wondered why I carried a can of starting fluid (Either) with me. It drops bugs very quickly, especially angry hornets. Spraying the paper nest they fall out dead.😃 ---

Thanks so much everyone. I still can’t believe this happened. You guys are great. Yeah, I am not looking too cute right now but am taking a lot of antihistamines and a steroid. Doctor thinks that this will definitely help. Swelling is already down some but I still have a ways to go. I really hope I look ok for work tomorrow. I have not been at work Mon or today:o Too embarassed. I have a very impotant huge presentation to give on Thurs for a large prospect, so I am really hoping that I look ok for it. I will be using MX134 for this presentation 😃 but that can only do so much!!! Woolfie2 - yep Elephant Woman is a good description or Sloth from the Goonies!😮 I have to remember that about ether… ---

Ohh Lady D sorry to hear about your unfortunate bee experience. Do you really look like sloth? When you do your presentation, will you walk dragging your leg and slur “I am not an animal” ??? Actually, how scary it must have been. My H is allergic, got stung on his foot - he already has big clown feet (no dont be happy for me - no correlation there). His foot was HUUUGE! For days! Too bad it wasnt somewhere it might have helped him. Speedy recovery to you… ---

Bees, wasps, hornets, whatever - they all suck! I feel like I look like Sloth - except I have both eyes where they are supposed to be one is just much larger than the other one due to swelling. And only one lip on one side is “plumped” - ummm not in a sexy way though 😮 Anyone have a Baby Ruth? Isn’t that what Chunk shared with him in the Goonie basement of the Fratelli’s hide out? I wonder if anyone else is going to kniow this reference or movie… LOL! Actually the swelling is down a lot thanks to wonder steriods! (still not a good idea to go opposite the doctor’s orders.) ---

Sorry to hear that Lady D. What are the chances, wow. My little sister also is allergic and has to do the whole Epi-pen thing and stick it in her leg, etc. if she gets stung and isn’t close enough to a hospital. Lucky you were close by. Well, hope you get better soon. Also luckily the mouth is the fastest healing part of the body, and that’s why animals will typically lick their wounds to help themselves heal quicker. At least it makes for a great story, right? 😃 …I mean, how many other people can say this happened to them 🙂 ---
