this wednesday my crush has 3 midterms and an assignment due. she sits right by me during her 2nd test that day so i want to get her something to make her feel good (shes been getting beat up a lot recently), but i have no ideas. a stuffed animal is probably too forward so thats out, but maybe a single rose. any other suggestions?? (aww, and i just thought a little note of encouragement to go with it would rock. how sweet am i???🆒 ) ---

Maybe I’m out of practice, but a rose would probably be just as forward (if not moreso) than a stuffed animal. A lot of it depends on context. Time and place and that sort of stuff as well as how well you know this person. ---

Perhaps talking to her and asking her out is much better of an idea. Giving gifts should be reserved for special occasions for girlfriends or you will quickly become “just friends” while she is out partying with the bad-boy. Sorry but I say NO WAY! I always have gotten much better response by telling a girl how I feel. It presents you as a man in touch with who he is and not afraid of rejection which promotes an air of confidence. ---

yah, i asked her out a few weeks ago. shes just got out of a 4 yr relationship and wants some solo time though. and i just mean getting her a flower is less forward cuz theyre only a couple bucks and not big and flashy. ---

But it tells her the wrong thing. By giving her a flower, a symbol of relationships, courtships, and what have you, you are telling her, I don’t really care that you said no to me already. The best thing you can do to get this girl to notice you is ignore her, move onto the other girls in class. Build your social value amongst the others and she will see you are not needy of her and then she will want in your life. If she doesn’t it’s her loss. Sorry I still say no flowers, no gifts. If you give her anything you are trying to buy her admiration and she, as a person, is not for sale. If she is then stay away from her. ---

well see that’s the thing - he didn’t wait around for me. he was just around. but never with a sniff of desperation. and always with other options. that doesn’t discount the fact that i’m a super hot babe with magic powers tho. jsut sayin’. Pharcyde - are you looking to hit and quit it with this girl, or are would you like something real with her? If you want something real, this may be a long term project. I would have to agree with _both_ Nunya and Steveo. Send her that light note, then work the other ladies. The note will put you in her mind, then showing you have other “options” will resonate when she is ready to start dating again. You can’t “force” things, I learned that the hard way long ago. ---

Nunya you do have to admit that perhaps you are not the norm. What percentage of women who get notes from guys who they are not interested in dating for whatever reason, will change there minds. I bet you its very low. There are not many guys who understand what you are saying though. Even if they did understand they would be way to needy and hanging around always looking for the in. Hey I’m a guy and believe me I have been there and it does not work. Pharcyde you have to ask yourself how much of your life do you want to invest in this girl?
