Are androtics direct products vegan? (no animal testing, products, fluids and what have you.) I know that [pheromones](https://a314.com/) can be made synthetically, or derived from sweat, and I heard that pig pheromones are the same as humans, which is cool but weird. Thanks for any info on this topic! Just curious.

Lol 🙂.

Actually, I’m fairly certain that the lab goes through a series of chemical reactions to make the pheromones. As for testing, we are pretty much guinea pigs. They sell us the [experimental pheromones](https://pheromonelabs.com/product-category/advanced-pheromones/experimental-pheromones/) and pay attention to what the buyers say in the forums to see if they should continue selling it or make any changes to it. They are safe, just different combinations of different pheromones. I don’t exactly know what they do to make sure that the pheromones are safe for human testing though. I bet they have to do a lot of paperwork with various government programs though, just like with prescription drugs and what not.

I think pheromones beng classified as cosmetics don’t require any rigorous governmental checks or approval. Pheromones are human secretions so we can assume them to be pretty much safe for human use anyway.

As regards putatives I recall Michael’s post that they were chosen based on their similarity in chemical structure to existing pheromones and also their human smell. I think Androtics also works on removing any harmful contaminants like lead and other heavy metals from their products.

They are all synthetically (chemically) manufactured but there is obviously human animal testing and use.

human testing sure (that would us, LOL) but animal testing, you think so? I’ve never seen any mention of that.

What about the people who wear pheros around their cats and horses and get responses? 😮😮😮

Most [artificial pheromones](https://pheromonelabs.com/), like perfume components, are synthetically created from petroleum derivatives. Not sure if that’s Vegan or even Kosher. While you could harvest pheromones from both animals and humans, it would be far too expensive. Although human pheromone harvesting could bring new meaning to “sweat shop” in 3rd world countries.

Here’s an interesting quote from a wholesaler site.

Maybe there are billions of fungi laboring in hideous sweatshops to bring us our pheromones!?!?

The terrible karma of it.

On the other hand, they might have highly developed fungal societies inside their petri dishes, a great nightlife, and fungus universities. They may be enjoying themselves quite a bit as they excrete the chemicals of interest. In that case I guess the karma would be cool.

> Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API’s) could be produced by chemical synthesis, microbial fermentation or isolation from natural sources. Most of API’s are small organic molecules which are usually manufactured by using synthetic process, however, chemical processing has created major concerns for environmental protection. To some extent, it’s not economical (or not possible) to produce many small or large organic molecules or biochemicals using conventional chemical process. To this end, biotechnology including microbial fermentation has been playing more and more important roles in the fine chemical and pharmaceutical industry.
> Most of the fermentation-based API’s are secondary metabolites produced by micro-organisms such as fungi and actinomycetes. The micro-organisms are capable of converting cheap carbon sources (starch, glucose, sucrose, etc.) and nitrogen sources (soybean flour, cotton-seed flour, peptone etc.) into expensive API’s or key intermediates (such as amino acids, vitamines, antibiotics) in liquid or solid media under certain growth conditions (nutrients, temperature, PH, oxygen supply).
