I’ve been searching for the body language link for over an hour and I can’t find it.

I would like to know what it means when a man constantly touches your arm and lets his hand flow down your arm while talking face to face.

Also when I am in the club this one guy, who is also my target guy, will be talking to a woman at the bar but as soon as I pass by him he opens up stands straight up and slight turns towards me. Eventually he will come over to me and stand on my side with his hand on the small of my back. **So his face faces the side of my face**. He always talks to me from this angle??? He will also kiss me on my cheek. I’ve encounter him 3 times, He always comes up to me when other men are around, however he never ask me for my number or anything else. We’ve had two semi-serious conversations in the club. I was standing slightly behind his chair. I ask him to watch my drink or something and when I came back I said did you take care of my drink he said yes and I will also take care of you forever. I was shocked. The next time I saw him, he ask me if I came to see him, I said yes, it’s all about you. Then he told me he had a wife and she died about 18 months ago. He seems very interested in me but he doesn’t ask me for my number??? What do you make of this?😕

> Patting on the back and touching the arm may be an act of sympathy and friendship. It can also be an act of dominance. Again, between men and particularly in situations of power, this is a signal of who is in charge.

The above can be if he is a person of authority they will tend to touch more.

> [@](#):
>
> Touching signals even closer intimacy. It may start with ‘accidental’ brushing, followed by touching of ‘safe’ parts of the body such as arms or back.
> Caressing is gentle stroking that may start in the safer regions and then stray (especially when alone) to sexual regions.

This can also be a sign of bonding and sexual interest.

I think he is showing signs of interest but he’s not yet ready to make his move. 18 months may not be long enough and he is easing back into the dating scene.

There is a link on how to read body language in my signature below

Hello She

Interesting, sounds like your target guty at the club really does wanna get to know you at least a little more… I wonder if he is just shy…maybe you could try some this combo which really opened up one of my TG’s who is also extremely shy.

Instant shine
Instant openess
Instant honesty

with this combo I was also wearing Instant sexiness/a

Just some food for thought, but it does sound like he likes you but for some reason seems afraid to take a chance on getting egg on his face or looking foolish or something. The fact that he comes over when other guys are around, seems like he doesn’t want them talking to you or maybe you talking to them, and the kisses on the cheek, yeah I would say he’s interested.

his wife just dies kinda recent so maybe he’s really unsure of himself right now…now you do realize this is the new day and time for women, why don’t you tell em you lost your number and wonder if you can borrow his or something…go get the man girl…you can do it, and you got your [pheromones](https://pheromonelabs.com/) to back you up (smile)

when the mountain wouldn’t come to Muhammad, Muhammad went to the mountain.

good luck with this situation, let us know how it turns out.
djac 🙂

Interesting, is he still wearing his wedding ring? (or does he have a classic ring tan line?)
he might not be ready to move on, or he could still be married or dating. I would be inclined to say he is likely interested, but conflicted by something about moving forward.

I would keep things positive, and talk about things of interest to you with him, and see where things lead, don’t bring up the subject of wife, unless he does. It would be interesting about how long he was married, but I would leave the past out of the topics.

For sure, turning to face you is a dead give away because he is giving you his full atention. I can’t comment on how the loss of his wife changes the situation for him (or you off course) but based on body language alone he definately likes you.

that’s the thing that throws me off, why doesn’t he stand in front of me. It’s strange.

I haven’t looked at his hand yet. He does most of the talking when I see him and he brought up the subject of his wife.

I thing he might be held back by something although I hope not. I don’t know what to make of him saying he would take care of me forever! guess that was just a line, but his face was so straight and serious, I looked at him and smiled and said “FOREVER” He also said that he noticed me in 1997 and ask me to go out several times but I didn’t pay him any attention, he’s right because I don’t remember.

I can’t wait til Wednesday, hopefully he will be there.

As a guy I can’t say for sure about standing in front of you but when i talk to a girl from the side it seems more casual and comfortable for me. If I stand in front of someone it seems a bit confrontational or professional.

Yes, I read in a dating book that guys feel more comfortable when sat next to someone, girls feel more comfortable sat facing someone. For me facing someone directly in a one to one conversation can seem a bit aggressive, by standing next to you he’s giving you his attention but it’s more casual or maybe the music’s to loud or something. Regardless he definitely likes you.

He may have been reading some dating books and was trying to perform “kino” on you. Short for kinesthetic, which means touch. It is supposed to enhance rapport and make you feel comfortable with him. All nice things.

I think he sounds interested. But any guy who starts talking about forever before he’s even gone out with you or seen you sans makeup etc, can’t be completely serious.

Definite interest - definite sexual interest. Especially with the touching - he _may_ be trying to see if you are going to reciprocate first before he makes a stronger move. Or he may just be using the kino to jump-start a sexual relationship.

There is a lot of possible psychology going on here and I am sure you are aware of most of it.

Another way to think about his loss: He just lost someone he was counting on to be around forever. She “left” him - even if it was because she died. That aspect - even beyond the grief - can be pretty damaging pshychologically and emotionally. Depending on how long they were married 18 months may not be a long time. Remember - he has to go from being us/we back to I/me again or you will be married to two people. And most likely he will unconsciously expect you to be her and not yourself if he has not gone through that process yet. It goes way beyond getting past the grief which itself can last quite a while.

Also he is coming from a “set” relationship and may be looking to slide right back into the same level of marital relationship - emotional, psychological, sexual - but sometimes people in that situation forget how long it took to arrive at that point … or he may be wanting you to take some initiative in the relationship just as he might have expected his wife to do so in his marriage.

The first way to consider it is that the “take care of you” comment can kinda be coming from one of two major angles. First, he may be somewhat insecure for whatever reason and is really attracted to you and rather than being secure in himself and confident enough to let the relationship grow (or die if you two are not really compatible) he is using his ability to provide for you as an additional lure to enter into a relationship - most likely that “set” relationship he is comfortable with.

The second way of looking at all this is pretty much as Kitten is alluding to in her last comment: he may be interested in eventually settling down again, but right now might be “playing the field” for the time being using the physical contact to try to jump start feelings of connection along with the ability to take care of you in order to hasten initmacy. Once he is there he can decide if he is really interested long term.

And there can be multiple options in between.

Obviously we can’t answer any of this for you - you will have to be the one to sort it out.

One other thing I would like to add here that parallels the topic of body language in that it’s a subconscious thing people do that betrays their actual motives:

Listen to what people say in an offhand manner (as in, turns of phrase or cliches that just roll off the tongue without thought) as opposed to what they say deliberately. I was recently seeing a man who used the phrase “I’m not going to lie to you” a lot. He didn’t over use it, and in fact usually used it in non-serious conversation (I’m not going to lie to you, Canadian bacon is my least favorite pizza topping, etc), until one night he was playing what I immediately perceived to be some serious games with me. He threw that phrase out I would say about ten times over the course of an evening. In the end, what was he doing? Lying through his teeth about literally everything. I picked up on this right away, and this how I knew to be suspicious that I was on the receiving end of shadiness.

People usually betray themselves without knowing it. To use yet another cliche, “read between the lines”. I’m curious as to what else this guy said in the conversation immediately before and immediately after he said he would take care of you for the rest of your life. I bet it would reveal more about his true thoughts/intentions on that subject.

be carefull about his face direction. if he is slightly turned so your looking at one side of his face its a sign of being Sly. I read this in a book and found it to be true for example your talking to a salesman and you ask a question for example “no problems with this longterm” the salesman turns his face side on and replys “no its fine” I wish i could name that book for i forgot it. Look on e-bay or amazon for a bodylanguage book. They can also help you at work with friends and such forth. most importantly learn eye movements. learn from his eyes what he is thinking eg.. a sound, a picture a feeling or … something constructed! ask him 3 basic questions like his name how old he is and about a pet he has or may have has, i cant see why he would lie about that so watch where his eyes move to when he it thinking on the 3 questions and you will see when he is being genuine in future questions. an easy one is if a man/woman eyes move down they are remembering a feeling.

He was married recently. He knows how to be in a very serious relationship. He obviously knows how to not be in a relationship. There is a continuum between no relationship and very serious relationship. He has no (recent) experienced anywhere in between. He knows how to treat you as a wife. He knows how to treat you as a stranger. Everything in between is just _ **horribly** _ confusing to him. If there were divorce proceedings that would give him at least some opportunity to ponder the option of being single again, but death is quite a shock. It isn’t necessarily that he isn’t ready to start dating. It may be that he just doesn’t know how. Plus he’s got to be scared (more than he wants to admit even to himself) about opening his heart to another considering what happened last time.

You need to take some extra responsibility to see that your relationship does not move too fast or too slow. He seems incapable of gauging the necessary gradualism. Most men have some trouble with that. Do you have a business card you can give him? Ask him to call just to talk.

Talking intimately to the side of your face is the best he knows how to do to treat you neither as wife nor stranger. See?

He has got a crush on you… give him a hint that you would like to meet him outside the bar or club..

tell him about this great movie at the cinema, and you havent got any one to go with…

he is scared of rejection, thats why he aint asking for your number…

if after that he doesnt volunteer to take you and asks for your number then, just forget it, it was a sexual attraction thats all, not a romantic one.

Dont confuse lust with love…
