buffering kinda means directing a specific pheromone in a certain “direction”
For example, the main ingredients in AMMO and TUTH are -none. If you used straight -none it is easier to OD because all you have is -none. AMMO and TUTH have other [pheromones](https://a314.com/shop/) that soften the “rawness” of -none. It directs it in a more useful way. Instead of scaring off women from too much -none, it will “direct” it so its not as -none-ish.
So instead of getting a whiff of all -none, you’ll get some social pheros that will help mask the -none.

Hope that helps. I’m sure someone like Tisha or SteveO will be able to elaborate more and give a better explanation. Hell, plenty of people here who can probably explain it better.

I think zeph explained it quite good.

Buffering can be done by some social or happy pheromones that take away your attention from the animal -none part 🙂

Just to add on for those that do better with visualizations…

You can think of a ‘buffer’ more or less as padding. Like, a chair is a frame, but a frame by itself isn’t that comfortable. So you put padding (or buffers) on top to make it more suitable.

Often ‘buffers’ are used in conjunction with ‘aggressive’ mixes because people might react negatively to some pheromones. By ‘buffering’ the mix with less ‘aggressive’ pheromones, the mix is toned down a bit and more easily accepted.

Buffering isn’t always used to make something more acceptable, but it generally is. For example, sometimes [Instant Female Magic](https://a314.com/product/instant-female-magic/) needs to be buffered with Instant Shine because of IMF’s negative self effects.

Or, you could say, you ‘buffered’ your Instant Openness with some A314 because the IO was too friendly and chatty and you wanted some personal space. In which case you would be ‘padding’ the chattiness with some distance.

I don’t know if that helps, but I’m a visual person so it works.
