Hello people trying to put my thoughts down is difficult but here goes.
Fenugreek, in particular the seeds is reputed to effect testosterone production, this increase in that hormone, could it effect your own natural [pheromone](https://pheromonelabs.com/) production?
Reason I am asking is I am still trying to find my sweet spot.

We identified up some dietary influence on phero production in our research a while back, however it was very small. Small enough to be effectively improbable in real life.

This is interesting; do you have a link, or can you give more details?

Personal hygiene is one of the most influential factors in mone production. Much of the mones on our skin are created by bacteria acting on sweat byproducts. If we wash off the sweat and bacteria, we wash off the elements needed to create many of our mones. Of course, stinking like a homeless bum kinda cancels out the benefits for the modern nose, so I prefer to be clean and wear artificial mones…

In the 4-Hour Body Tim Ferriss recounts how he doubled his testosterone levels via dietary changes and claims that as a result woman reacted differently to him. He even uses the word pheromone.

It was a sideline to our work on phero profiling for human/animal attractiveness to biting/disease spreading insects and was never made into a paper in its own right. Someone may pick it up again now the project has restarted, with a greater emphasis on the human angle - may be a while tho as there are only three of us involved FTM and I’m still only back part time.

The original project work is now in the hands of patent lawyers & a parmaceutical company as part of a comercialistion deal, so I can’t say a great deal about that either, yet. 😉

What were your main findings? Do you think there’s potential use for [pheromones](https://pheromonelabs.com/shop/) as insect repellant?

Yes - Excellent potential.

We took the work to the point where we were able to demonstrate that certain pheros had at least equal and potentially far greater effectiveness to all the main repellents currently in use. With none of the issues of tolerance, allergic reaction, chemical toxicity and genetic damage.

Although the work initially began with humans and salmonids (fish) in mind, the emphasis changed rapidly when the UK had an outbreak of Foot and Mouth a few years back and we were able to demonstrate effectiveness of a range of pheros against insect vectors for this, Bluetounge Virus and other diseases as well. The implications for a non-vaccination solution in agriculture that would preserve disease free status are immense. Hence the commercialisation deal.

A lot of the relevant published work is referenced on one of our main collaborators page here:

I’m afraid I can’t tell you that just yet.

In the meantime, I would suggest sticking to DEET, chain smoking and whisky. 🙂
