My car recently got stolen a couple weeks ago and I just got it back from the body shop from it being recovered.

anyone have any experience with what are some good car security systems or anti-theft devices?

My car is supposed to be very hard to steal and hotwire stock from the factory because you need to have a passkey unlock for the ignition to even work. obviously they were professionals from how they stole it and hotwired it so quickly with out much damage.

I would save your money. If someone wants your car they are going to take it reguardless if it has a alarm or not. Nobody even pays attention to car alarms anymore unless one is going off at 3 in the morning in front of your house. If you do still want a alarm get one that disables the electrical system so the car cannot be “hotwired”.

A remote multi point alarm and mobiliser with GPS tracking is the ideal 🙂

These units automatically notify you on your phone if/when your car is moved when the alarm is on.
Its a great way to know if it’s been stolen and where its going.

Errr… wern’t those Pintos once known as "SPID"s for their tendency to burst into flame if rearended?

“Self-Propelled Incendiary Devices”

Maybe you should get an old AMC Pacer. That way if it gets stolen you’ll A) be grateful, and B) it’s probably an automatic insanity conviction for the thief.

Of course people will be wondering about you for driving one in the first place… Fishbowl on wheels.

yes, but i’ve solved that problem by only driving my pinto in reverse 😉
