I remember reading about how climate, dry and hot in particular, negatively impacted alcohol based [pheromones](https://a314.com/shop/). I was wondering what all of your experiences are with this, and if climate affects the oil based ones.. I live in SLC - which is always dry, and very hot in the summer. It doesn’t seem to be a problem now, which could because it is so cold? Anyways I am interested to hear all of your feedback.

A really good indicator of how well mones will work is how well you smell cologne/perfume on people around you. If you can easily smell other people’s cologne/perfume when they are around, they can probably easily smell yours.

Pheromones work similarly to colognes and perfumes. More is put into the air around you if it’s hotter. More is released if your skin is hot or you’re sweating.
I sweat a ton. I’ll even sweat after a game of ping-pong, 😛. Therefore, I use less mones, but reapply often. Majority of them usually last people 6ish hours, but I find myself losing effects after 3-4.

Oils diffuse slower than alcohol. They’re actually perfect for a guy like me. Sadly, only A314 is offered in oil.

I believe dry climates limit diffusion, but I could be wrong. If it’s really hot though, you’ll be sweating, and therefore increasing diffusion.

I hope that helps!

I believe cold had detrimental effects on diffusion because there is less chance of evaporation. I agree with skeptical - the hotter it is (and sweaty), you will need less mones and more applications. To add, I do want to mention that if you don’t smell the mones after an hour or two does not mean it’s not still there and diffusing. Especially with the 6% light neroli scent. It only lasts for a few hours and likely much less if you are sweating.

Yeah I also think the cold is horrible for mones, I actually stopped wearing them when the temperature dropped here in California.

However the weather here is fairly warm 9 months out of the year so I really don’t have to worry.

I use mones just about every day, sometimes oil and sometimes alcohol based even though it’s freezing cold. I’m mostly indoors anyway, so I’ll be warm enough to get diffusion.

Of course I didn’t bother using any while I was working outdoors for a few days. Not much sense putting on anything when barely even your eyes are visible in the heap of clothes you have to wear.

Yeah I haven’t noticed any issues with the cold - but I also am indoors most of the time. But the cold doesn’t affect 'mones other then diffusion correct?

I don’t see what else could happen to them. They’re still on your skin and if that ever gets cold enough to become harmful to the mones, you probably won’t care since you must be dead.

Climate’s affect duration and distance (sillage).

In hot humid weather your mones diffuse a little slower, they travel farther though so your range of people exposed increases. They also stay in the atmosphere a bit longer.

In hot dry weather it will diffuse well but it doesn’t travel as far or linger in the atmosphere.

In cold climates it tends to diffuse off the body much slower and you may need to change application spots because the heat of the body shifts to protect vital organs. In these cases the usual outer extremities we sometimes use as application points like wrists and forearms may not work as well. Depending on the moisture in the air they can linger and give good sillage but usually its less them summer.

Oil’s are heavier so they slow diffusion in all weather but the same applies to them just at a different rate.

I dont know how many of you have dumps in your towns or in near by towns. If you do you will notice there are days when you can smell the dump and days when you cant. Usually hot humid days are when everyone notices the dump in the next town because the scent lingers and is carried farther. Its the same if you live in the city (expressways or near processing plants.) just on a larger scale.
