Last night I went to a gig for a radio station I’m a part of. I have a show on there and am part of the main committee that runs it. My girlfirend is co-founder (not with me though!).
The radio station was turning one, and this was a birthday gig. A lot of people were coming that I didn’t know. So I wanted some effects kind of like the karaoke bar last week.
Ended up spraying myself 10 times again with IOx4 (didn’t want to take any chances). I’ll start toning it down soon!
Four sprays on arms/wrists
Four on head
Two on neck
Followed by two sprays of IJ on the neck for some -none. So this was a well buffered IJ mix. ![]()
I got there, and picked up a roll of tape, and a marker and started giving people nametags. This ended up as a wonderful opener. I had people approaching me all night asking for name tags and even some coming back for more.
My girlfriend was running around taking photos and talking to people. This was her gig afterall, so I went solo for tonight.
I got rather witty at times. One girl wanted the name “Doorwoman” on her so that people would show her their IDs when they come in (she was a random). I just felt like innuendoing a bit. “Do they call you doorwoman because people slam you all the time? Or is it because people go in and out of you? That’s what you’re made for, right? Do you have a knob?” blah blah blah.
Something happened tonight that hasn’t happened to me ever before though. My girlfriend was talking to this guy, she directed him to me to get a nametag. He hugged me and was super friendly. He wanted “friendly” writen under his name. I was suprised at the level of kino he was giving me. Alarm bells were about to ring, but I thought that he probably was just super friendly.
We parted ways for a while, and then he met up with me again about 20 minutes later. He wanted a nametag that says “I love Leafstamp” (though, that was my real name there
). He had unbuttoned his shirt down to halfway and put a chip up to my mouth. I took it out of his hand and ate it. He hugged me again. I was a bit shorter than him, so he did this thing where he’d open his legs into a diamond, and hug me. It was weird. Definitely knew he was flirting with me at this time. He went away. I think I dissuaded him a bit with my objection to his corn chip. (NO! That is NOT a euphimism).
After a while I went outside for some fresh air. He invited me to sit down next to him on the footpath so I could write him another nametag. This time he wanted “I love Leafstamp more!”. Go figure. More kino this time. I was getting slightly uncomfortable. As far as gay guys go, though, I can say, while being completely straight, that he wasn’t that bad looking. I could’ve done much MUCH worse in that department. I made an excuse and ended up going back inside.
Last time we met was while I was outside. He was leaving. So he did a bit more kino. Asked me for a hug goodbye. Did the diamond thing again. As he was pulling away, he gave me a kiss on the cheek, and then asked for one on the lips and began to lean in.
I blurted “I have a girlfriend, and I’m straight. But thanks.”
He said “Oh, I’m sorry sorry sorry” and left. His “girlfriend” said that he was gay as they were walking away.
I guess I felt a bit flattered that he chose me to go after, but I haven’t had much experience with giving rejection to people. So that’s where my problem was. I should have set the boundary from the beginning. I’ll chalk that one up to experience.
Fuck it. I need a haircut.
