I was thinking earlier today about the philosophy behind [pheromones](https://a314.com/shop/). According to my dictionary, the definition of a drug is “a substance that has a physiological effect when ingested or otherwise introduced into the body,”

I would think in this case the IS for the “self effects” would be considered a drug since there definitely is a psychological effect going on in this feel good pheromone.

What do you you think?

It allmost needs its own classification, because it does have a physiological effect on people but it is a natrual chemical that is produced by the body so it does not have the same risks.

Pheromones are molecules that are naturally produced by the human body. The synthetic ones are identical molecules.

Dictionaries are not the end-all be-all of word meanings. According to the literal definition you posted, oxygen and water are drugs, as is food.
