If you’re at all interested in making your own parfum or cologne/aftershave etc., then you might want to visit [www.snowdriftfarm.com](http://www.snowdriftfarm.com/) for essential and fragrance oils, perfumer’s alcohol, formulator’s alcohol, etc.

I find that Tea Tree Oil (_Melaleuca alternifolia,_ from Australia) has a camphor-like odor that will cover just about any other scent. It has antiseptic and antifungal properties. A one-ounce bottle costs about $6.00 USD.

(In comparison, the Tunisian [Neroli](https://a314.com/product-category/scented/androtics-neroli/) oil --the kind Michael is using as the ‘light cover’ sells for $195.00 per one ounce.)

Fragrance oils, unlike essential oils, are synthetics in whole or in part; Snowdrift’s Jasmin Neroli fragrance oil is only $4/oz. They have a number of knock off blend scents, e.g. Kenneth Cole, Hanae Mori, Theirry Mugler, etc.

Parfums are roughly 20-30% oil (essential or fragrance), colognes 15-20%, eau de cologne 12-17%, eau de toilette 5-10%, aftershave 2-5%. The site gives useful advice on [formulating your own scent](http://www.snowdriftfarm.com/form_perfumes.html) – which might not be as popular as famous name parfum, but

You can say “_ **I blended this fragrance myself** _.” 😃
