Creed Boi Du Portugal

Fragrance Notes: Cedar, vetiver, sandalwood, lavender.

Now I have a full bottle of this I thought I would add some more thoughts on this powerful manly cologne.

God is this strong I made the mistake by spraying two applications concentrated onto my neck at about 6.00pm England time. The fragrance opened with a over powering lavender spicy woody smell. And the lavender was sharp and seemed to overpower the other notes.

And hours later I could still smell that powerful lavender top note and it just would not quit. In the morning when I woke twelve hours later I could still smell it but not as powerful.Lol

To experiment I spayed one shot to my left wrist then rubbed it into my right rist and I applied half a spray to my neck making sure I rubbed it in and around my neck. Well this made a huge difference the lavender top note was not so over powering and I got lots of woody smokey fragrance that was rich and fulll of flavor to my nose. I got to smell the sandalwood and cedar more than the over whelming lavender note. This whole olfactory experience reminded me been in a wood on a hot day surrounded by lavender as a open fire is burning different woods.

The lesson learned with this fragrance is that only a small amount is needed and to make sure to rub it into your skin and spread it around so it gives up its full spicy woody aroma so the lavender note does not over power the other notes. This cologne is going last me a very long time and I bought a 75ml bottle. Thumbs up for a quality product when used correctly and in moderation.

Tommy, a tip with the Creed spray heads is that they do not have to be depressed too vigorously to give a fine mist like some less expensive products. You can spread a spray out by depressing the nozzel more slowly and using it like an air brush. Rubbing perfumes is not generally a good idea, although dabbing as in spraying your neck and pressing your wrist to the place you sprayed is ok.

If you think BDP is loud you should check out Baie de Genievre or Ambre Cannelle. Those two can REALLY project. LOL

oh yeah another tip when it comes to Creed sprayers…they spray much more then any other perfume out there IMO

1 spray = 2 sprays IMO

So if you spray usually 2 sprays really equals 4 sprays LOL so be careful

Portugal is probably my favorite of ALL the Creed’s - including GIT.

Royal English Leather spiked with a little castoreum to bump up the leather note is #2.

Thanks for introducing me to this cologne! I love the smell and plan to save up for a full bottle. I’ve got so many Creed testers now I have a tough time deciding which to wear because they all smell great.

Hi Snoopy

I’m glad you like the fragrance as it makes a stark contrast to all the other sweet smelling fragrances which there are many. I love the smoky woody notes that appear as it drys down onto your skin.

On another note regarding your Original Vetiver post, at work on my lunch brake I got some more samples from this upmarket store and brought them back to the office. Lucky for me on my section there are a lot of sexy girls and I got four of them to smell the different vials and tell me which one they liked the best of the Creed samples.

Out of the five samples they all loved the Original Vetiver, it was weird it was making them crazy. And they wanted me to wear it and I must have put on the whole little bottle. Now OV is not my first choice but it is very nice and from the reaction I got from the girls on my section I am seriously considering adding that one to my Creed collection.🆒

I had the same reaction from the women in my office complex. It was really funny because I’d walk down the hall and every woman would pop her head out of the office door and head down the hall after me. It was wild.

I’m going to try that tomorrow with Boi Du Portugal.

I love Bois Du Portugal… strong stuff that would last a long time since one spray can do the job… that and GIT are my 2 favorites from Creed, so far.

I liked Enrolfa, SMW, Himalaya, MI and thought VIW was nice. Bois Du Portugal stood out for me the most of that sample set… I will save up for a bigger bottle of that.

I have Original Vetiver, Green Valley and Tabarome Millesome samples coming… can’t wait.

The quality of the Creed products are excellent and I think that is due to them using natural ingredients more than synthetic chemicals which are made to smell like a known scent.

I got my samples from Les Senteurs perfume shop and the samples are eau de toilette strength. What was a nice surprise is that a lot of Creed products are millesime strength which is extra concentrated. And when you get to smell your favorite cologne at that strength it is heavenly especially when you have smelled the weaker samples.

I like wearing Boi Du Portugal when its cold as the fiery woody scent makes me feel warm. I have ordered Original Vetiver as I have become addictive to its fresh green invigerating scent. It reminds me of playing golf early on in the morning on a sunny clear blue sky day.

With Original Tabrome you get a scent that is strong with jasmine which has been darkened with a tobacco and a bit of ginger. I guess to tramsform a nice Jasmine scent which is feminine into a more masculine scent. Its a nice scent but more of a classic than a modern frag.🙂

I think I may be more into the classics at this stage of my life… 🙂

Have you tried Green Valley, yet?

I think I am going to slowly build up a collection of Creed Colognes – no one around here has ever heard of them so I will be quite different, in that aspect.

Another thing, I don’t care for the smell of [Ammo](https://a314.com/product/ammo/) – which Creed Cologne would be the best to cover it?

I find it easy to cover A314 and the others because they aren’t as strong smelling and fade quickly on me.

I have not tried Green Valley but I am interested in what the scent is like, you will have to give me your take on it when you get your sample. I am doing the same in regards of collecting the Creed Range when I have the extra cash.

The Ammo scent is best covered with GIT, it covers the scent just fine. I am not to keen either on the Game scent and it is a scent I prefer to cover.🙂
