Or the fidelity. In some countries it’s more “acceptable” to have lovers on the side, whether or not they are happy in their marriage. In other countries, a divorce be economically unfeasible or severely frowned upon by the local religion, despite unhealthy or even “unsafe” living conditions. Granted I think the paperwork and counseling to get married should be equal or greater than that for getting divorced, and maybe people wouldn’t take the “easy out” if they made a better match or learned better communication and compassion, but this data set shows only a portion of the picture.
