# dab from the vial vs. spray

i’m currently testing a few pricey colognes, namely creed’s GIT and SMW. they smell great but i was wondering if using them in a spray changes the scent dramatically from what i am doing now, which is using the dropper stick in the vial to dab some onto my wrist or neck, then lightly touching my other wrist or other side of my neck.

before i buy i’ll definitely go get a test spray at a fragrance counter to double check one last time.

At least in my experience with a few colognes, dabbing vs. spraying doesn’t really change the scent much. I’ve even made an oil based composite with Original Vetiver (alcohol based) at 20% by volume and it really didn’t change the scent. Made it last longer and diffuse the pheros much better, however!

good to know, thanks. i just found my old ff20-22 testers so if i can clean out one of those and get enough in for a spray or two, i can do some spray testing besides just testing at the fragrance counter.
