What I mean by you shooting yourself down more than the girls do is that you are assuming rejection instead of actually getting rejected. She looked taken, she looked uninterested. She doesn’t actually say she has a bf, or is not interested, you willingly bow out.
Sometimes it’s easier to pass up opportunities, assuming it wasn’t going to work out, so that we don’t actually have to face real rejection, and would rather just ‘get it over with’ and reject myself, saving myself some time and humiliation. But that is just a self defense mechanism. Instead, learn that more often than not, you’re more accepted than you might think.
