**First-Person Report On Other-Effects of [Instant Shine](https://a314.com/product/shine/)**

As I mentioned earlier in this journal, I ordered my wife a bottle of grapefruit Instant Shine as a Christmas present. We’re big kids, so we decided to open 1 present each last night! I got some nice wraparound earmuffs and she got the fruits of my latest scientific obsession 🙂

The upshot of this is that I had the opportunity to experience Instant Shine from the perspective of someone interacting with the person wearing it. To date, I still have not managed to notice any real effect from using IS on myself, and so I was feeling a little nervous about my gift. I wanted it to be a really cool thing, not just a nerdy social status placebo.

**Dosage** : 1x IS to the wrists

**Setting** : Home

**Self-effects** : None reported. I probed a little bit but didn’t want to be too annoying about it. She didn’t mention feeling any different. However, I did notice that she looked at least a little bit more relaxed, and began smiling more easily within 5 minutes of application.

**Other-effects** : Even though I was trying hard to be objective, I know that my observations are contaminated by my knowledge that she had applied the product and my expectations about what it is supposed to do. Still, a few minutes after application, I’ll be damned if she hadn’t taken on a bit of a glow! It’s tough to describe, she just looked a little bit healthier, happier, and even just a bit more attractive than she had a couple of minutes prior!

**Range** : I was right next to her upon last night’s application, so this morning when she applied the product again I tried to keep my distance and approach her gradually in order to gauge the range of effect. I’d say I was about 4 or 5 feet away when I noticed a slight difference in my perception of her.

**Conclusion**

This was a really cool experience to have, and was a bit of a prover for me to be able to feel the effects from this perspective. It also makes me somewhat more inclined to wear Instant Shine even though I have not been able to notice the effects. It doesn’t seem to change peoples’ behavior very dramatically, but it does seem to be a bit of a general image enhancer.

Wow, Love this post! Always have that thought, what are people around me feeling/seeing with the mones I have on?
Interesting perspective!!!

How did she like the Grapefruit?

Thanks, 1Alpha! I’m very glad you enjoyed the report!

The grapefruit smells very nice on her! We both like the way it smells. She always smells good in citrusy and spicy scents (sweeter scents don’t work well on her.)

1st Test of the Effects of [Instant Honesty](https://a314.com/product/instant-honesty/) on Hypnotic Experience

As previously reported, I spent some time creating an mp3 recording of the [Phenomenology of Consciousness Inventory - Hypnotic Assessment Procedure](http://www.quantifyingconsciousness.com/pci.htm) and, with the blessing of the instrument’s creator, am beginning to study the possible effects of pheromone exposure on hypnotic experience. Below are my first results for the pilot study. Now keep in mind that the following results are _extremely_ preliminary.

- This is n=1. A single subject.
- No experimental control. No blinding.
- The possibility of increased response with repeated administrations of the PCI-HAP

I will subsequently be performing similar tests on friends and associates, and if the results are interesting enough I will conduct a much more rigorous experiment utilizing a double-blind, randomized test-retest design.

**About The PCI-HAP**

The PCI-HAP is an instrument for measuring both overall level of responsivity to hypnotic suggestion and the specific types of experiences an individual is prone to following the administration of a hypnotic induction. The instrument reports overall hypnotic susceptibility as a predicted Harvard Group Scale (pHGS) score ranging from 0 to 12. It also provide a “Trance Typology Profile” as one or more of the following:

1. Classic lows
2. Relaxed lows
3. Nondialoging mediums
4. Dialoging mediums
5. Visualizers
6. Rational high-mediums
7. Dialoging high-mediums
8. Fantasy highs
9. Classic highs

**Baseline PCI-HAP Score Taken in 2007**

Below are my PCI-HAP scores from the first time I was ever exposed to the instrument, in 2007. The instrument reported my predicted overall hypnotizability score at 5.73, and pegged my trance typology profile as 4/6, which is Dialogging Medium/Rational High-Medium.

**Baseline PCI-HAP Score Taken in 2010 Using Standardized PCI-HAP MP3**

Below are my baseline scores taken using my own recorded PCI-HAP mp3. My overall hypnotizability was predicted at 6.99, with trance typology profile of 4/5 - Dialoging mediums/Visualizers.

The increase in hypnotizability score could be due to a number of factors:

- Repeated exposure to, and increased comfort with, hypnotic experience
- Improved performance based on analog enhancements to the HAP itself - I spent a lot of time marking out the embedded commands within the HAP and recording them in such a way as to maximize effect
- The fact that I was listening to a recording which used my own voice - This could definitely increase my comfort with the procedure and sense of trust and rapport

**PCI-HAP Score Taken in 2010 Using PCI-HAP MP3 and 2x Instant Honesty**

The second PCI-HAP administration took place approximately one hour after the baseline administration reported above. I administered 2 sprays of Instant Honesty directly to my upper lip and rubbed it through my mustache. I then waited 10 minutes before beginning the PCI-HAP.

My overall predicted hypnotizability rating was 7.10, with trance typology 7/8 - Dialoging High-Mediums/Fantasy Highs. I experienced some interesting differences during this administration, especially:

- Time distortion
- Spontaneous memories and visions
- Increased positive affect
- Increased mental concentration but difficulty focusing that concentration
- Greater inward-focus
- Reduced recall

**Conclusions**

As I noted above, it is too early to make any inferences about the meaning of these results. I can, however, say, that my subjective experience of trance was substantially different after the IH administration, and included more characteristics that are commonly associated with greater depths of trance.

Man… I suggest at least 2 sprays of ISHINE to feel any effects. At 1 spray, the effects are really subtle. For maximum effects, try up to 4-6 😉

Yeah, I’ve noticed a lot of experienced users talk about using 2-4 sprays of 4x IS, but I figure there must be a good reason for the consumer line being dosed the way it is. Effects at the low end may be qualitatively different from effects at the high end. I’ll test both eventually.

Personally, I’m starting to think that IS may not agree with me when applied to my person. Every time I’ve applied it I ended up feeling run-down for hours. I need to test it more systematically to verify this effect. But I definitely haven’t been seeing the mood-enhancing self-effect that seems so prominent.

I’ve had similar experiences with IS. Every time I’ve gone over 2 sprays I get a REALLY big crash and feel like I haven’t gotten enough sleep. It does lighten my mood initially but it doesn’t seem to last very long.

It is said that 70-80% feel the mood-enhancing effects of effects. I guess you might be one of few unlucky ones ☹ ? Sometimes it takes several times till you feel the positive self-effects.

Yeah I agree with yah.

Ishine has always been that sense of well-being, a strong self-confident aspect that permeates others perception. I’ve been wearing it often all by its lonesome. I used to wear like 6-8 sprays of 4X and lately I’ve gone back to 3 sprays of 1X and I’ve been getting even better results.

I’m excited to see you test like this dbot and hope you continue with this type of testing.

When I made my previous post a moment ago I mentioned that I too used to use the 4X. I believe the only reason I used it is that I am personally effected by it. I feel that sense of well-being and confidence and I like it. As I get more acclimated to the signature, like anything else, I also get a bit accustomed to that signature and therefore numb to it. I’ve also said though that self-effects while good, really not the primary effect of mones. It’s the influence over others that is the most valuable. So rather than attempting to compensate the dwindling personal effects I embrace the effects it has on others. Remarkably enough though, now that I am again using less, I am starting to recalibrate my personal response to the self-effects essentially felling them more than before. Go figure!🙂

**P106 Self-Effects Report** _(or P106 - Fox Urine of Supreme Power)_

Tomorrow morning is my first internship interview, so I’m at home prepping for some of the crazy questions they might ask me _(“Where do you see your career path fitting into the grand scheme of the universe?”)_. I wasn’t making as much progress with it as I wanted to, was feeling kind of distracted. I had also wanted to get in a good workout and protein shake before bed so I’d sleep well and be mentally sharp and focused in the morning, but was having trouble motivating myself. I was going back and forth between rehearsing my answers to questions about my take on the role of diversity in psychotherapy and surfing the forum. I remembered that I had a full bottle of P106 waiting to be tested so I decided to spray a little on while I continued prepping for the interview.

**Dose:** 1 spray at 10mcg (akuto), to the wrists

Within 5 minutes, and really without thinking about what I was doing at all, I was fluidly rehearsing possible answers to interview questions _while working out_. I then proceeded to make and drink my protein shake, take out the trash, trim my beard with a high degree of visual and aesthetic acuity, and write this report! I feel very clear, fluid, and motivated.

This stuff is great! I only wish it smelled better.

Now I’ve never smelled akuto before, so I’m honestly not sure if this is what it’s supposed to smell like. Either I don’t like akuto, or akuto is not able to cover up the odor of this molecule, because it has the sweet, acrid smell of something I might sprinkle along a fence to scare away small animals.

But it feels so good I keep raising my wrist to my nose to smell it.

**-\> Can anybody verify whether this molecule smells particularly sweet and urilicious?**

I have read two full journals today and tonight this was my third. My brain is hurting. You definitely deserved that reporting user status. Awesome!!!

My thought on shine4x is something I think rad said to me about the caffeine crash associated with it. At 4x the crash comes later than it does with lower spray amounts. Not saying it doesn’t come at all, but in most scenarios the crash is coming around the time I wanna go to sleep instead of half way through like at 2x. I know IS works from 4-6 hours even more or less depending on diffusion, but it seems the crash can come while the rest of the effects of shine are still working and the more sprays the later the crash comes.

Thanks for reading, GorMas, and thanks for the encouragement! 🙂

It’s interesting to hear that the IS crash may come later at higher doses. So far for me it seems to come pretty much right away and last a few hours. Sometime this week I’ll try 6 or 8 sprays to the chest under my shirt with nothing else to see if I can find a positive effect.

Another thing to try though is spray to the wrists or back of the neck. When I spray to the chest that is when I get the most self effects. even more than lets say the sides of the neck or even the front. I get the slowest diffusion from my wrist along with the least self effects 🙂 Just keep your application points in mind 😉

Thanks, these are great tips. I’m still getting a feel for the reactions that different application points get.

> How’d your internship interview go?

It went very well, thanks for asking! I ended up going with 2xA314 and 1xIH. I probably could have used another spray of IH but I was wary of having too much fragrance on me. I have 4 more interviews at different sites, so I may do 2xIH at my next interview.

Most of the people I came in contact with at the interview site seemed to relate to me very easily and afford me a high status automatically. It helped that I was all dressed up in my power suit (which fits very right 😉), but the mones gave me a nice kick for sure. Three current students were working there on the day of my interview, all female. One of them who I have seen around campus a few times and really only talked to once was very friendly. She stayed and chatted with me for a few minutes before my interviewer was ready, and introduced me to the other student who was with her. Lots of IOIs from both of them. After they left me in the waiting room I sat for a while longer, and the student I had just met walked by again and asked me if I was nervous. I said I was a little nervous, and flashed her a winning smile. She said, “Don’t worry, we’ll put in a good word for you.” From a girl I just met? Nice!

The main interview lasted about an hour with me, the training director, and one of his interns. It went very well for the most part. I stumbled maybe twice, which is not bad for an hour-long interview. The interviewer was hard to read for the most part, but by the end seemed to be giving me some fairly automatic agreement and even assuming my views on certain issues would be similar to his own. My oratorical style is a little strong for a lot of people, so these are good signs and may have been aided by the IH.

After the main interview I had a shorter interview with the clinical director, who was immediately at ease with me, to the point where we ended up talking about his upcoming surgery and various technological advancements in medicine that we’re both excited about. This was great material for seeding ideas about my interest in advancing the field of psychotherapy and really positioning myself as a future leader of the field (which I am 😉). He basically told me I was on the short list.

I’ve been working on finding my sweet spots for IH, IO, and IG, but it’s been difficult because I don’t have any regular schedules or social contacts right now, so it’s hard to be systematic. Sometimes I feel like 1x is perfect, other times like 2x is not enough. I’ll get there.
