That is so true.

I actually think that things start to happen when people stop worrying about it and let karma work it’s course.

Having a goal and trying to hard are two different things. I’ve learned that one cannot force a desired outcome, especially when it is dependent upon someone else.

We are each motivated by our own set of values and experiences. All we can really do is be comfortable with who we are and it is then up to other to decide if they want to be a part of our lives. If they do, that’s great… If not, then that is the way life works sometimes.

that is a lot of history, but you still have lots of life to lead and you shouldn’t have to do it alone. once you make up your mind to move on, it’ll probably be easier to start taking those baby steps and i bet once you take enough baby steps to equal a big leap, TG may start wondering what’s up. but that shouldn’t matter because by then you’ll be so moved on anyway…

it’s hard to give up on something that’s been a part of you for so long but if [pheromone](https://a314.com/shop/) people are nothing else, we are masters of (re)invention.

and there’s a whole lot of room between alone and docile!!!..wild, sexy, provocative, seductive, socially engaged, fun, booked, dating, playing, flirting, solitary, exploratory, adventurous, shocking, observant, subtle…you get the picture!

Baggage? I’ve always wondered what people really meant by that term.

I get the feeling that for a lot of people it means either prior life experiences or children.

Man… children are not baggage. They’re a gift and they are a part of who single parents are… a large part.

And prior life experiences? Dings to the heart? We’ve all had them. They only become ‘baggage’ if we allow them to be. We can either choose to drag them around with us or learn from them and move on a more experienced individual.

Docile sucks and I dont think your capable of being that.

Your a strong, sexy, beautiful, sassy women. Never forget that.

I am assuming you have told him what you need in your relationship. If he is not willing to get with the program its time to change the channel and believe me it will be his loss.

look where im posting Thalion 😉

baggage is a universal term MEN use,not so much women.

if she has kids, they are not living little people with feelings and minds, they are a NO-THING and “why cant they just go to a sitter so that i can get to their mom ???”

i believe the mens forum has a whole lotta _THAT_ going on.

your the exception Thalion, not the rule 😉

thank you tisha,

the perennial trying with this man is about the kids.

i guess once you spend a significant amount of time with a guy, the comfort level destroys everything that makes a relationship _fun_.
like remembering my birthday.
nothing.
valentines day.
nothing.

people will have opinions here, but kids decide everything.☹

I was raised by a single mom who is amazing… She raised us in such a way that we didn’t even _think_ about not having a father. I honestly don’t feel like I missed a thing. I’ve never wanted to speak to him or meet him…
My mom made us feel normal the way we were and that can be tough during times when kids just want to be like everyone else.
She eventually found someone who definitely did not see us as baggage and they just took the big step & got married after 20 years of dating.!!!
Lor, I think motherhood is super-sexy…Eventually you’ll find a man secure enough and strong enough to handle you and want you for the smart, sassy, sexpot mom that you are.
xoxo

great story,sam
you had an excellent example of how a mom should be!
my attitude might stem from severe lack of that example, and so this posts are _ **very** _ supportive and uplifting.🙂

ahhhh, i am going to have a better day today.
its already starting out that way !!!

When I started dating after my disastrous marriages, I made my son my FIRST consideration in any relationship that I got into. If my son wasn’t comfortable with who I was seeing, then it WASN’T going to work out. I told them all from the jump, not to put me in a position to make a choice between them and my son. Because, if it came down to that, they would surely lose.

The only ones who were ever able to get close to me were the ones who NEVER said things like “can’t you get a sitter”, or anything like that. The ones who scored points with me were the ones who included my son in activities WITH us…the man that I am with now has kids, so he understands, and is very good at being a Dad. On the weeks that he doesn’t have his kids, he spends a lot of nights over here. When he gets home in the evening, I get a hug and a kiss, and then he goes into my son’s room to ask him how his day went, what he learned at school, what video game he is playing, etc…he says that he doesn’t ever want my son to feel like he is unimportant or intruding. He is a gem…😃

hey the kids are 50% him too…i don’t like it when people don’t play fair. he helped bring em about, now he wants to resent their drag on your “fun”? there’s guys out there who have kids and still know how to keep life fun & sexy. i am convinced of this. and you will find one who’s got an open heart and loves you AND your kids (even if they aren’t his!). seriously. _grumbles at Lor’s guy for being a wuss_ (sorry! :embarrased:)

Lor, I spent 10 years with a loser who was secretly attracted to asian women. (I’m half black and Indian) I left him eventually. We have a great son together. At least that part was worth it. I’m now married to a wonderful guy who loves everything about me and we’ve been together for almost 10 years (dating for 8yrs and married for 2 yrs next month) It’s a dream come true.

When it’s time to move on, you know it. Be it 10 yrs or 2. Yes it’s a hard thing to do but worth it. Handle your business girlfriend and keep smiling. Your soul mate is out there. I found mine and so will you. 🙂

Just remember, the drawing board can be whatever you want it to be: a clean, shiny, happy place where _anything_ can happen! The best things happen to you when you least expect it.

I am always offended when someone refers to children as being _baggage_. Bleh… Children are a wonderful gift, and we learn so much from them. When you are a mother, it is a part of who you are. If someone doesn’t accept _them_, they really don’t accept you either.

Look at Dolly, Countess, and I. We all have wonderful men in our lives who love the total package(as in gift), including our children. My fiance came into my life at a time when I had totally given up on guys, period. It can happen to you too. Don’t waste your time on someone who isn’t going to love everything that you are. Perhaps having your SO back for this time has finally given you a real reason to move on. He is an absolute fool to lose such a gorgeous, sassy, wonderful lady as you.

Thalion, you are such an absolute sweetheart. Really.
