I read somewhere that men put women into four distinct categories:

**a. friend/companion/confidante**

**b. sidepiece, week end fling-other woman**

* * *

**c. mother-like, maternal -relatives**

* * *

**d. WIFE-wife material!**

To the guys here, is this true for you? What action on the woman’s part makes you place women in these categories? Is it her looks, personality, your mood? Do tell!😉

I assume from the low marriage stats your category “D” is rarely used (old skool). A very common and extremely practical female category is “E. Paycheck.” Nothing beats sittin’ at home drinking a cool one while your woman brings home the bacon. You give guys far too much credit here. Many guys prefer a simple numeral designation, e.g., she’s a 6.5 while her sister’s a friggen 9! That is, a one category designation: degree 'o fuckability. Nothing else matters much.

I think men put women in 3 different categories:

1. A woman he would have sex with but wouldn’t want a relationship with.
2. A woman he would have sex with and would want a relationship with.
3. A woman he would not have sex with.

A man can be a friend/companion/confidante with a woman in any of the above three categories.

The three most important factors that men consider are the following:

1. How hot she is.
2. How sexually wild she is.
3. How much of a psycho she is.

All other considerations are secondary to the above factors.

Oh not sure about, there are definitely some women who would be put in a potential wife category and some that would be on the not even with beer goggles.

Not all men simple want to shag anything that moves.

There was a female make over show in the UK few years back, i watched one show and the women dressed all tarty and provocative. They showed film of this women to men and asked what they thought of her, most said they would avoid, a few they would shag and none they would marry.

After make over it was reversed with large number saying she was wife material.

How many men are there out there who choose a women to be a wife because they knew she would be good mother (breeder) and have bit on the side for that dirty sex?

Quite a few.

Yes i would say men can and do cateogrize women and if being harse i would say

1. Sex
2. To ugly
3. Confidant (mother sister, none sexual friend)
4. Breeder
5. Sugar mummy
6. Besotted

I like metaltree’s three categories much better than yours. I can’t remember meeting a girl and putting her into a “maternal” category.

If you’re in group 3, you are (1 or more):
–unattractive
–“off limits”

If you’re in group 1, you are (1 or more):
–boring
–unstable
–not smart
–unreliable, untrustworthy
–mean, manipulative

If you’re in group 2, you are:
–good enough

What does a man consider psycho behavior from a woman?

Please, don’t go by what you read or hear … find out for yourself … with time. Those writers, critics have a job to do. How much junk could you come up with when it comes to relationships, IF it’s the way you get paid.

Nope, all women are NOT alike, UNTIL … they get tired of your ass, and then you see the same patterns. 😃

Nobody writing a book or report is authorized to speak for ME. 🙄

Kind of what I say with a little editing.

1. How hot she is. - WITH ME … that means a nice set of legs, and a nice set of toilet grippers!

2. How sexually wild she is. WITH ME … that means she’s wanting to and loves to please me as well.

3. How much of a psycho she is. WITH ME … that means what he means. 😉 I’ve had my share of those … dangerous, to say the least! :o

Categories? Maybe. My categories are **I LIKE HER** and **I DON’T LIKE HER**. Those still running around trying to live life from between their legs, fall into the latter. With age, my value has risen, too! 😉 Now she has to have more going for her than those OOOH BABY MOMENTS. I no longer live for those momentary pleasure moments. Have I been cursed!?

Giving from the HEART, gets me every single time! 😃 It’s pretty rare in my area … GIMME GIMME GIMME is the norm. Pahlease! 🆒

I speak ONLY for myself. I’m sure there are millions of other ideas/beliefs out there.

Good luck in your search. And remember … _ **Believe in none of what you hear, and half of what you see**._

1. when a woman threatens to commit suicide
2. when a woman throws things at you during a fight (if you getting angry, take it out in the bedroom, sheeesh)
3. when a when a woman licks her finger and gets it ready to perform an anal probe on you (without your consent) 😮😮😮

and i’m sure the list continues…

Wife material - lovely, gentle, kind, creative, truthful, sympathetic, dedicated and intelligent - all of which is very sexy - and extremely rare.

Friend/Confidante

Too much baggage

Skank

Gold Digger

Sociopathic Lying Bitch - which should be a capital offense.

That’s just off the top of my head. I am not aware of any correlation to the physical attractiveness scale. The eye can see, but the ear can listen.

I 100% concur with the above Metaltree categories. That is so darn right and as simple as that.

However, I am not sure about the factors or maybe is a matter of interpretation.

Hotty - I rather say how attractive she is. Sometimes I am more attracted to a woman that may not have the looks, and is not even that "hot " but has that something thing that triggers something. And i am not talking of feelings necessarily as is something more instinctual. Maybe is about phero signature 😉… for sure it has to do with attitude. Like a charming smile or a cheeky sigh.

Sexualy wild - Well, not sure, it depends how she channels it. I rather look a it like sexually compatible and “available” that means more than just the sexual act, it starts from the initial flirting instant.

Psycho - I rather think of worldviews or mental frames that are not in dire conflict against each other and that behold potential for complementarity. We are all psychos in our own little way and that in itself is a sign of our no-psychiness, I think.

1. Sister zone. Yes, some men have a ‘sister zone’ where even if you are considered a 10, he won’t dream of bedding you. For me, this is because I’ve known the girl from an early age and I’ve seen her grow up; been a shoulder to cry on when her relationships go bad; best friends with her parents; had sleepovers in her bed when we were kids; we can still crash out in bed together and it’s strictly platonic etc.

2. Friend zone. The curse of all men if they fall into it, and yes, women can get the ljbf conversation too. Spectacularly hard for a woman to fall into, but for me, it’s when a woman is too ditzy and dizzy to be relationship material, but she’s a wildly funny person to hang out with. She has one bad habit that is a definite turn off, such as smoking; or is outside an acceptable age range for dating.

3. Mother zone. Any woman who goes overboard with the mother hen behaviour gets put into here. Normally a category I put all the cougars and MILFs that I meet into. Any older woman that I treat with affection, hugs, cuddles, kiss on the cheek, remember her birthday etc, but isn’t pursued sexually unless something about her really stands out.

4. ‘Bed her now’ zone. Pretty much any nubile, attractive female between early 20s to mid or late 30s is in this zone. Restricted only by what is considered acceptable moral behaviour in polite society.

5. Marriage material. I’m a cynical dog and sometimes optimist. 🙄 No-one has fallen into this zone for me yet.

> [@Pirouette](#):
>
> What does a man consider psycho behavior from a woman?

Stalking after the first date, especially if it doesn’t work out. A female ‘stranger’ who manages to turn up outside your home or place of employment and wants to know ‘all about my man’ even if you never told her where you live or work is very unsettling. You wonder, ‘How the Hell…’ and, ‘I’m not your man, lady…’

The phone rings and it’s her, even if you kept it in your zipped inside pocket for the entire date and there is no possible way she could have taken it to find out the number.

A woman who insists on mapping out your lives together during or after the second date. ‘How many kids do you want? I want 4!!!’ Uhh… run!😮😮

A woman who gradually moves in by stealth after the third. Friends have complained of their dates doing it and I hate that. If you want to consider moving in, talk to me, dammit. It’s what you’re supposedly good at, so why play coy?

i think that this is a great thread and i want to appluad you for starting it. first of all i want to commend you for wanting to know this in the first place. over time i have learned that women are incredibly ignorant when it comes to men, which surprises men becaues we are so simple. in another thread called “why men love prostitutes” a member discussed the rational behind this. basically, the only thing a women needs to know is if her man is going to cheat on her or not, so they never bother to understand anything beyond that. on the other hand, men have to understand womens behavior and their motivations just to have a conversation with them.

anywho, here’s my two cents…i think a lot of these categorizations depend on age and mental stage of the man involved. for example, i am 24 years old…i have no intention of gettting married or having children any time soon. so for me there’s only 3 categories:

1. women that i want purely for sex.
2. women that i want for a relationship.
3. women that will not have sex with me but introduce me to her female friends. i guess this is kind of the “friends category”

at my stage in life…there’s only two things that i need women for that i can’t do myself or can’t get from calling up a guy buddy: those are anything that involves discussing my feeling and hugging and stuff, and sex. i know this may sound kind of sexist..but that’s the truth…hell i’m a better cook than any woman i’ve met so far and i honestly can’t think of anything i would call up a female friend for other than those two things i just listed, so my categorizations are based on those two things.

and this is prolly gonna sound even more sexist still (if that’s possible) but i think a lot of women overthink their positions with men. as men we are happy by ourselves and when we are with our friends we are on top of the world. i used to have conversations with female friends about how she wasn’t making him happy and blah blah blah. but here’s the thing…women really aren’t supposed to make men happy. if you think that a guy is happy because you walked into his life..then there’s something wrong here, either he has some self esteem issues or a boring life, or you’re putting yourself on a pedestal.

now don’t misunderstand me, i’m not saying that the only thing that women are good for is sex and childbearing, if you think that i’m coming from that frame of mind, then you would be seriously mistaken. but the idea that a women completes a man is mostly bs.

oh yah, i can almost hear the haters loggin on now

I have to say this thread is very misogynistic, yet honest.

We categorize and compartmentalize things inside our brain daily. People, places, thoughts, ideas, things, la la land. Being too analytical can be as perilous as not being analytical enough. Overly analytical people tend to have alot of internal dialogue.

You may be getting that vibe from others but I don’t agree that mere categorisation is Misogyny. Misogyny is quite a strong word, it’s not simple disdain or lack of respect… it’s a stronger negative emotion.

I love a lot of women to varying degrees and they all fit in one of MetalTree’s categories:

> [@metalTree](#):
>
> 1. A woman he would have sex with but wouldn’t want a relationship with.
> 2. A woman he would have sex with and would want a relationship with.
> 3. A woman he would not have sex with.

All of them are lovely and beautiful in some way (or presumably I wouldn’t love them).

I remember being a teenager and girls I knew playing a game called “fuck, chuck, marry” putting boys into three categories. I can’t remember which category I ever was in, but I do remember getting to a point in my life _where I didn’t care, and it_ _felt good not to_.

> at my stage in life…there’s only two things that i need women for that i can’t do myself or can’t get from calling up a guy buddy: those are anything that involves discussing my feeling and hugging and stuff, and sex. i know this may sound kind of sexist..but that’s the truth…hell i’m a better cook than any woman i’ve met so far and i honestly can’t think of anything i would call up a female friend for other than those two things i just listed, so my categorizations are based on those two things.
>
> and this is prolly gonna sound even more sexist still (if that’s possible) but i think a lot of women overthink their positions with men. as men we are happy by ourselves and when we are with our friends we are on top of the world. i used to have conversations with female friends about how she wasn’t making him happy and blah blah blah. but here’s the thing…women really aren’t supposed to make men happy. if you think that a guy is happy because you walked into his life..then there’s something wrong here, either he has some self esteem issues or a boring life, or you’re putting yourself on a pedestal.
>
> now don’t misunderstand me, i’m not saying that the only thing that women are good for is sex and childbearing, if you think that i’m coming from that frame of mind, then you would be seriously mistaken. but the idea that a women completes a man is mostly bs.
>
> oh yah, i can almost hear the haters loggin on now

I would have to agree with you on this one. I’m 12 years older yet I understand exactly where you are coming from.
