There are cultural factors that sometimes limit one’s ability to use strong scented colognes. For instance, in a health-care setting colognes may be prohibited for medical reasons. Due to rising instances of chemical sensitivity, some employers have banned the use of perfumes and colognes during working time. These prohibitions may be either loosely or tightly enforced, depending on the situation.

In addition to outright prohibitions, there are places a strong cologne is out of place. For instance, at a traditional male-oriented gym. For many athletic interactions like volleyball at the beach it might seem unusual to wear a strong cologne.

Have you ever encountered a situation where the presence of a strong cover scent has either prevented you from using a [pheromone product](https://a314.com/shop/) you would like to use, or caused a negative consequence? If so, please tell us about it.

It’s a general thing for me and not only for specific situations. I really dislike having people around me who wear strong fragrances, so it’s only natural that I dislike wearing them myself I guess…

While I like certain scents (Game) I know that they don’t necessarily work with my personality/chemistry and that affects how I feel wearing them as well as how others see me. I’ve been told by people when I am wearing Game scented mixes that the scent just doesn’t fit my personality. Maybe I’ll have to try getting something Akuto scented, although I don’t know what that smells like either (never tried A314). Has anyone tried Akuto scented [Instant Gentleman](https://a314.com/product/gentleman/)?

Nope, and I have never even heard of a place banning colognes or perfumes. If so, they should ban people with BO and bad breath too. Some guys are so funky you gag from 5 feet out. And, yes, I have noticed both my dentist and physician wearing light cologne or aftershave. I often think of mones as a good excuse to wear cologne.

LMAO that is a good point…I know more people who stink from bad breath and BO..and it sucks…

I really wish more people would wear perfumes and cologne or at least take a shower or wear deodorize or something

but now there is an extreme if someone wears 15 sprays of Angel Men to work or anywhere in public do not expect people not to complain to the bosses LOL

I really don’t like strong cover scents on myself. And there are some scents I just don’t feel comfortable wearing anyway.

I’m not too enthused about the scent of AD Ammunition (older version) for example. And Aquagen (sold elsewhere at one time) just smelled “cheap” to me, although at least one of my “scent testers” seemed to like it.

Plus I often like to wear my own cover cologne, and I am wary of “scent clash” between the different products. And with being able to choose my own cover product I can also adjust the amount I apply to keep the overall scent cloud to what I feel is a comfortable level.

One other drawback to scented products in my mind is that it can also make it obvious to someone that you recently applied something. There are times for example it’s been suggested one use a bit of Turn Up The Heat when the moment is right. But to me TUTH has a noticable cover scent, and I fear if I were to go off to the “boy’s room” for a moment and return with a fresh strong cloud of something it may stand out a little too much. Especially if it doesn’t match what I had been wearing beforehand.

My parents hate when I wear any type of cologne or [pheromones](https://a314.com/shop/) in the house, whether it be unscented, neroli scent, game, akuto, or any of my colognes. This does limit my pheromone experiments because I have to be very careful whenever I am around the house. Haters I tell you. 😛 I’m moving out in the summer woot. 😃

I remember a conference once where they had banned colognes and perfumes for allergy reasons. I snuck in some IS and had a blast 🙂

I voted NO
I tend to only use cover scents sparsely and not at a very high strength. Most of the instant line fades and blends pretty quickly so that’s not an issue.

[Akuto](https://a314.com/product-category/scented/akuto/), and I actually sneezed when I wrote that word, has caused a number of problems. Many people I meet when I am wearing akutchoooo have reported sneezing and allergy like reactions, myself included. I would not wear that scent to an office or closed environment.

i dont really understand the question, but chocolatini fragrance at androtics makes me nauseous to the pit of my stomach because its so strong. i dont think any fragrances w/pheromones should be that heavy, it completely vexes people im around. thats why ive ordered a few things in grapefruit because its light enough to stir interest not suffocate them. i just put in an order so i’ll be trying out coconut and cookie… ill let you all know how it complements or clashes with the pheromone usage

Honestly, I think 6% fragrance is too strong. I wish 1% were an option. I’m also very light-skinned, Nordic descent, so all scents come off very strong on me. I never wear more than 1 spray of any cologne, and then I usually spray my fingers and dab it around.

Most of the Instants end up being mild enough, but for some reason iShine comes off really strong on me. I’m not sure if my bottle got mixed with a heavy hand, or if the mones in it just make the scent stand out more.

I’ve thought a couple of times that pheromones are naturally carried on the body’s own light musk; it seems like there should be a way to make products work with just some light plant musk or something. Then they’d mix well with any cologne.

Yes I OD on cologne not mones. The alcohol from the cologne bothers my allergies and I end up with watery eyes and runny nose and difficulty breathing. I also find I tune out and get stoned off of it. The stronger the mones the stronger the cover scent needed to mask the odor. This could be why I tend to dislike edge NPA because I have to wear so much dang cover.

Even ammo with akuto which is pretty tame I can’t wear more than 2-3 days in a row because of the buildup of mones and cologne.

Taking showers help but once the cologne is inhaled it in my sinuses and it stays there for a long time.

I’ve basically given up on heavy cologne products. A cologne called 1 million seemed to work magic for me though as it was made of very natural ingredients.

Still after a while I get adverse reactions with that too.

I take several medications, have acute depression and anxiety and like products like IS, ammo (akuto not ff21 that one stinks to high heaven), and a314 because they are fairly light on cologne.

Boggles my mind why androtics does not make unscented versions of their products…

Bad marketing move.

I disagree. In a lot of ways that’s like saying a car company is making a bad marketing decision by not simply selling their cars in individual parts or why restaurants don’t sell their dishes in the form of a bag full of ingredients.

While a small handful of experienced phero enthusiasts would no doubt have the knowledge and patience to put together their own mixes under a variety of personally selected cover scents, the average customer which would constitute the bulk of AD’s market base more than likely simply wants something they can spray and go. The products pretty much HAVE to have a cover scent since most pheromones while having positive effects on the subconscious and instinctive level, will be considered unpleasant enough on a conscious level that nobody will want to stay around you long enough for those effects to occur. In other words, the None molecule is sexual, but if the woman consciously detects it, most of the time she’ll think you need to shower.

As has been stated before moisture and oils in the skin slow diffusion, so if you use some good moisturizers the diffusion and thus the intensity of your cover scent AND your pheromones will decrease (not always a bad thing) since if your cologne strength comes off strong and then disappears in a short time, it’s likely your mone diffusion is doing likewise.

Now while I am glad that AD has chosen to make both the choice of scent and scent strength available as custom options, I would love to see Ammo: (on of the two flagship products imo) to be available in a wider selection of new scents. Besides the tongue in cheek and somewhat misleading ads, one of the big reasons for Axe’s success is the combination of variety and convenience.

A guy can shower with Dark Temptation shower gel, apply the antiperspirant, and then do a double pits to chesty with the body spray and he’s done…with a similar scented mone infused cologne viola, he’s sexual chocolate. If AD made enough money for expansion I think that would be the best direction to go. More choices for Ammo and have the scent selection just be part of the standard price…like they already do now with regular and world edition.

Most of the scented [pheromone products](https://a314.com/shop/) i have used have never been over scented enough to have prevented me from applying a decent dosage.

There was a period of years where i was using around 4 or 5 times the amount of cologne that was necessary because with the sinus problem i had i could not detect fragrances, and this over kill of my fragrance applications did impact upon my positive pheromone use results.

But thank goodness i can now detect the fragrance strength in one small spritz of cologne, not only this but i now possess the ability to detect the scent of androstenone, this is a good thing because i can detect it when it is in formulas and mixes ect 🙂
