Just started my NEW subscription to Netflix by watching this documentary. This was interesting and insightful and was wondering if anyone else has seen this documentary and their thoughts of it.

I think I may have seen the same one, they touch on [pheromones](https://a314.com/shop/) a little, but also get into facial symmetry, status symbols etc. If it’s the one I’m thinking of they even made mention of a test where men responded to silhouettes of women with exaggerated bust/waist/hip ratio’s over women with more realistic ones.

That’s the one. The facial symmetry or “golden ratio”. I thought they were about to go into a big thing on phermones, but they didn’t. They also did that experiment with the people dressed asexually and had to chose a mate two different ways and each time paired with someone close to both their random number and what they thought their own attractiveness was. Overall I thought it was an interesting documentary. I also knew, but didn’t realize that INCOME level plays a way bigger role than I anticipated. I knew it had some pull on you seeming attractive, but without personality in play INCOME level makes you more appealing than looks. One guy went from a 3 on looks alone and when ranked by a girl with income involved he scored a 10(he made $300,000/yr though), but then again the income levels were quite drastic in the ones they decided to show on the documentary. The cutest ranked fellow had the lowest income and his attractiveness level was cut in half by some women. Granted this was based on looks and income only, but interesting to say the least

That is funny, because here is Holland there was a research where they made men and women choose between an ugly lawyer or dentist and a good looking builder or cassier, and both the men and the women cared more about looks than status. They did say that results of similar research were different in countries with a bigger difference in incomes.

In Northern Europe, esp Scanda countries, many people live pretty affluently. Not all live luxuriously, but they generate more than enough that they don’t have to worry much about ‘making a standard of living’, unlike some Eastern European or Southeast Asian or South American or African countries.
In the latter places, status and wealth probably weight much more than the former ones.
Well, in contrast to what many believe, there are many good looking women AND men in both medical field or law, esp in the US 😉
