Thanks for your input, rob3014. You see, I mentioned MB for a reason, I knew I had reviewed MB ingredients via the search function some time ago, and obtained info about it from a reputable source. That’s why I mentioned MB affecting me similarly to other products with -none in them, because I was operating under the assumption that it did has ‘some’ -none in it.

Funny thing is when I searched for the info again using the same method recently, to help clear up any confusion as to what I was talking about, I fell short. But then I realized, I am really weird! 😃 (Some of my odd ball ways actually payed off this time 😛) Everything I find that is, or might be, important on PheroTalk, I save, in text files! So, using google, I was able to do search specifying sentences\paragraphs I’ve saved, to get me the correct thread. 🙂

As it turns out, it was MHarris who specified some of MB ingredients, back in August, 2006 and why said ingredients are used. Now, I’m not sure if this has changed much since, but based off my reactions to MB and others reactions to it, IMO, it seems that it hasn’t dropped it’s -none content back when.

> [@MHarris](#):
>
> Gay men are not well served by the typical male heterosexual pheromone product. As we’ve discussed before, their temperament and their culture are completely different.
>
> In heterosexual culture, there’s lots of male bravado at bars and nightclubs. Men are often unfriendly or insulting to other men. There’s often fighting and other shows of male aggression. There’s the “big chimp” syndrome. You could call it a high androstenone culture.
>
> I can’t say I have homosexual culture pinned down, but it’s most certainly different.
>
> When we first had gay men testing our products, they enjoyed the increased attraction, but complained about them bringing on unwanted aggression.
>
> A314 actually worked well as an attractant for most of our testers, perhaps better than it does when used by heterosexuals, but even with A314, there were unwanted negatives in bars and nightclubs. They felt that it brought attributes of heterosexual nightclubs that they perceived as negative.
>
> Apparently, there’s not much of the “big chimp” syndrome in the gay culture.
>
> It’s all very interesting.
>
> **For these reasons, Mystery Boy is much lighter… more “fun” and less aggressive. Minimal androstenone, and more elements of products like Instant Shine and the experimental Spaceland mix are used. A good feeling, party atmosphere formula.**
>
> It’s also a department store quality, professional, attention getting cologne, much like Ammo.
>
> That’s very important in the gay culture. Most gay men have very good, and you might say… expensive… taste. All details much be looked after, or they have no interest in a product at all. We even needed to invest more time and money in the label design, otherwise they wouldn’t even consider it.
>
> I think we’re probably the first company that can deliver the quality on the outside of the package, as well as the inside, that they’re looking for. It’s a tough market. In a real way, a really wonderful market to work in, since it provides many challenges… and I like a challenge. Most breakthroughs happen in response to good challenge.

And, for some further clarification as to why said pheros would be used in a Gay [pheromone product](https://a314.com/shop/)…

> [@Has anyone used the gay pheromone "Mystery Boy" for Gay Men?](https://pheromonetalk.com/t/has-anyone-used-the-gay-pheromone-mystery-boy-for-gay-men/564/9):
>
> Perhaps (for attraction purposes, I’d supplement with the experimental MX104 version of A314, and not normal A314 itself).
>
> Many of the same sexual triggers for male, homosexual brains are the same for female, heterosexual brains.
>
> A1, for instance, lights up similars areas of both.
>
> You’re right in needing to modify it, though. You need a mix addresses the male heterosexual culture and particular aspects of female, heterosexual culture.
>
> I wouldn’t get too hung on points made in studies, because it goes beyond what pheromones light up certain parts of either sexes brain. That’s too specific. Too small a view.
>
> You have to take in mind the the context and other differences inherent in male homosexual vs. heterosexual culture. They’re important.
>
> That said, MX100 and MX99 are the closest mixes we have to Mystery Boy… minus the club-type cologne and nice packaging. They’re also quite light and fun, a good deal cheaper, and I’d personally try one of those first. Probably MX99, to be specific.

Oh, and just so I’m clear on this, I’m not trying to pick a fight with anyone, i.e., I’m not being adversarial with Steve. I’m just trying to make it clear that I’m not an absent minded fool, which is the persona I feel I exhibited when talking to him, due to my inadequate explanation, of what I understand to be. :o
