So I just got my first order of pheromones a few days ago. I ordered A314, [Instant Shine](https://a314.com/product/shine/), and Ammo. Soooo…I tested the Instant Shine these past 2 days and I have to say I’m a little disappointed. I’ve read this forum enough times and know enough about the science that I’m past the skeptic phase. Concurrently, having read this forum considerably I assumed Instant Shine would be a great first try because of all the obvious effects, including self-effects, it has in all situations. I have the 1X strength Instant Shine by the way. I work with only a few other people who I am already very friendly with and so I knew not to expect many hits there, but was more observant of the self effects. Yesterday: I tried the IS by itself. 3 sprays, one on neck, one on face, and one on my wrist, rubbed with other wrist. Had one other co-worker with me. I didn’t notice any hits really, although now that I think of it my co-worker was a little more smiley and jokey than normal. But no self-effects whatsoever. Today: IS by itself again. I decided to just go all out so I did 6 sprays, one on each side of neck, one on back of neck, one on chest, one on face, and one on wrists rubbed together. 2 co-workers with me. Didn’t notice any hits with my co-workers. Didn’t feel virtually any self-effects. Maybe a tiny bit, but not enough to make me think it wasn’t placebo. So is it possible I’m immune to Instant Shine? Is it possible I still didn’t use enough!? You can’t OD on Instant Shine can you? What do all you pheromone gurus speculate happened? Maybe I should test it differently. Do you guys have any suggestions on how I should test it? Like I said, I wasn’t expecting any hits from others because of the situation, but why didn’t I experience any self effects? ---

I’ve never experienced any self-medication effects from IS. And as a standalone results proved subtle at best. However, I found IS to work best for me in combination with A314, NPA or other alpha enhancing [pheromones](https://a314.com/). Seems to soften them up without destroying the alpha vibe. Nothing earth shattering but enough that I notice. With that said, I’ve enjoyed more obvious–sometimes over the top–results from 3 or 4 25 mcg shots of TAA. Go figure as IS is based on TAA. Alas I haven’t noticed any self-medication effects from pheromone use for over 4 years. When I first started, androstenone used to make me feel a bit nervous and “up,” but that groove gradually faded after a month or so of use. I’m fine with my natural mood. I don’t want no frickin’ chemical mood alternations. I want to be in control. My only purpose is to effect change on those around me, so it’s good not to get drunk on my own nectar. I wondered about the claimed self-effects for a long time. Perhaps certain personality types are more easily influenced than others? I’m a trained professional artist and deal with turning intense emotional expression on and off like a light. Being cool and collected inside allows me to control perfectly what I do onstage (great for poker too). ---

I too don’t perceive any noticeable self effects from [Instant Shine](https://a314.com/product/shine/). I don’t get any kind of rush, any kind of buzz or anything like that. If anything, maybe it helps minimize the time when I’m in a bad mood like when a driver pisses me off or something, but other than that it doesn’t seem to raise my own mood. However, I do notice a lot of effects on others especially at work with as little as 1 spray regular strength. I have never gone over 2 sprays of any phero product yet. In a way I’m glad I don’t have any major self effects. I generally don’t like anything influencing me. That is why I don’t drink, smoke, do drugs or anything. I don’t want to feel any kind of buzz or high at all. I don’t even drink coffee, although I do drink a lot of soda. I rarely even take over the counter cold medicine. ---

Wish I knew more people like you! 🙂 I’ve never placed any cigarette in my mouth and already stopped drinking.. But although I shouldn’t, I drink LOTS of coffee 😛 So I’ve had the same experience, I don’t feel anything different with IS too. People even seemed to avoid me, however, they looked chatty and happy.
