I finally had a chance to try instant openness(1X of double strength to-go size) and I was definitely in a chattier mood. It was funny because I was at the dining room table talking to my friend/roommate and a short time later everyone else(3 people) were all gathered around the table joining the conversation. I was curious what would happen if I left the area so I did and within a couple minutes everyone went back to what they were doing before.
Could just be coincidence but I will be paying close attention as I test it out more.

I think I got the results of being more talkative with IShine because I am usually wishing to say something or speak up more but usually think it through for too long which just kills the action. So far I’ve noticed with IShine that I spend less energy analyzing and more just feeling good and letting things flow. The effect is subtle and won’t work if I am choosing to be in a bad mood but when I put a little effort into being in a good mood it seems to multiply it. I think placebo plays a part…without a good attitude all the pheromones in the world aren’t going to help a person…but if they are used to enhance what is already naturally great about that person, well I think thats where their real power lies. I’ve read that from some of the more experienced phero-users and my experience is starting to confirm it.

Hi GuitarGuy, that’s some good testing: to contrast how people react to your presence and to your absence! Very convincing 🙂

I’m going to be wearing IS again today. It might specifically help in the second of my two client meetings (well, I have 3, but the last is via Skype - I guess I can still record the self-effect there).

I thought of another reason for being obsessed with the self-effects (apart from how it’s easier to observe myself than either): my behaviour (and you might find this too) is the limiting factor in many social interactions. Often an interaction is just waiting for me to talk more, get involved more, whatever. More outgoing people find the effects manifesting on the target, who is the less-responsive person. If the wearer is the less-responsive person, I’d expect them to feel the effect (after all, they not actually ‘my’ pheremones… MadisonTater refers to the pheromones coming from ‘a guy strapped to your back’).

Sunday (21 Jan) was a day off pheromones (and work). More updates later..

Most people find the self-effects decline with repeated use.

Yes, that’s why I’m eager to see the other-effects of these [social pheromones](https://a314.com/product-category/social-pheromones/). It’s not always easy, but I expect I’ll get more skilled at it…

21st January 2008

Applied 2x Instant Shine (~25 mcg pheromones)

- wrists
- hair (hanging, then tied)

While arranging hair between 1st & 2nd shot, thought about going down to collect the mail, but in my imagination I was chatting to neighbours merrily, and the whole thing seemed quite jolly. Then I remembered what I had just applied to my wrists 😃.

First meeting was fine, but I can’t say I noticed any further effects. If IS ‘makes people like you more’, then I would hardly expect to notice it so easily. At least not in an environment like a meeting.

About 3 hours later, applied a further shot to my chest, and half an hour later the next meeting started. This client is often pretty stressed, and she sometimes finds it difficult to speak freely (in English), so actually, [Instant Openness](https://a314.com/product/instant-openness/) would have been better. But I don’t want to confuse my research any more.

It was a friendly and relaxed meeting, but some of the above-mentioned problems occurred, mildly. So no especially observable effects. She’s quite a difficult person to ‘read’, anyway.

As renny said, this Instant Shine is proving to be a bit more challenging than Instant Openness!

I think that instead of increasing the dosage day by day for 5 days and taking 2 days break, I should increase the dosage for 6 (or 4?) days, and then have two days break. For one thing, I don’t want to miss out on Saturdays, and also - concerning clients - I often (not always) meet the same people on the same day, so if (say) Friday were always to be OD-day, it wouldn’t really be fair (or good reporting) to expose the same clients to the same mysteriously unappealing cloud of [Neroli](https://a314.com/product-category/scented/androtics-neroli/) that their English teacher has become.

Possible number of sprays per day could be 2/3/4/5 or 2/2/3/4/5/5…

What determines whether a post is moderated or not? Sometimes, a post appears immediately, and other times I have to wait for it to appear, but I can’t see what the determining factor is.

I posted today’s report before the previous post (dealing with how to increase the dosage), but the daily report got moderated and delayed, while this post about dosage didn’t…

Moderation slows down a lot after your 50th post but it can still happen. It’s random for the most part although certain unknown keywords can trigger it.

22nd January 2008

Mid-afternoon, applied 4x Instant shine to:

- wrist
- hair (as yesterday)
- chest
- back of neck

There were no obvious effects today - nothing very convincing, but a few things which could have happened anyway.

Soon after application, I found myself thinking about how nice my life is, which it is, of course, but I don’t always appreciate it. Then I started doing a lot of chores that I’d been putting off for days. Hmmm…

One of these chores involved going to the supermarket and stocking up on a pile of things. I normally don’t enjoy this, but today I was quick and almost… had… fun.. (does that make sense?).

By the time 18.00 came around, I applied a 5th shot (from of neck), figuring that the early application would have begun to wear off during my later meetings.

Today - 2 clients, who I meet (individually) in the same place. One the way, I was again struck my the feeling that my life is really very wonderful, and I wasn’t even a little bit annoyed that I had to ‘go to work’ (given how nice my work is, I shouldn’t ever feel like this, but it’s still a common enough feeling). At the meetings, no spectacular effects were visible to me, but the meetings were very good humoured, with the second one in particular being a bit less business-like than usual.

I also noticed on the way home, that my internal monologue wasn’t as frenetic as usual - rather calmer, and not so interested in replaying discussions and ‘rediscussing’ things already talked about.

So, nothing spectacular to report today, but I have to say that there’s been a persistent feeling of well-being today. Nothing over the top, but nice nonetheless.

I was also thinking that the positive feelings that I was experiencing while chatting couldn’t be only self-effect (i.e. the effect of inhaling the pheromones I’d applied). I would expect that the other person’s mood (perhaps influenced by the IS) would affect me directly, through the normal dynamics of conversation (which might also include pheromonal channels, in fact).

Anyway, I think I could observe a decrease in businesslike-ness with the last client. That would seem appropriate - he was a bit more interested in me.

Great reporting…I’m now inspired to start testing methodically because I’ve had some unsuccessful mixes and even when they seem work I’m not really comprehending whats working exactly. My initial impatience has worn off and now I’m ready to get down to business and do some rigorous testing. Thanks for doing this journal…its been very helpful for me.

Oh by the way…I tryed 2 sprays of double strength instant openness(to-go) and had excellent results…maybe the best results so far in my short period of using pheros. Tomorrow I’m going to try 3 sprays. 😃

Keep up the good work!

Cheers

That’s exactly why I’m going methodically - even if magic mixes work, I won’t know why. I can thank Patratt for inspiring me (while I was waiting for my order) to be so methodical 🙂

Instant openness is… um, my favourite (of 2!). It’s really great.

24th January 2008

Yesterday - no meetings, didn’t use any pheromones

Today is my last day of [Instant Shine](https://a314.com/product/shine/) testing. I applied 4 shots in the morning (wrists, chest, hair, back of neck) and went to a meeting. 5 or six hours later I applied 2 more shots (wrists, chest) and went out an hour later to another client.

In both cases, the meetings were fun - maybe more fun than usual, but nothing really out of the ordinary.

So in the end, Instant Shine leaves me with a big question mark. It definitely makes me feel better, and inclines me to a kind of cheerfulness and optimism. No obvious effects on other people, though I expect it’s doing something.

What remains to be tested:

[Instant Female Magic](https://a314.com/product/instant-female-magic/), Honesty, A314, Ammo, Turn Up The Heat

I’m inclined to consider Honesty or Ammo next. Good idea?

Edit: BTW, I’m also working on rebuilding my social life. See [here.](https://pheromonetalk.com/t/how-does-an-irish-guy-like-me-get-social-with-people-in-poland-where-i-am/8563)

My 2 cents? Try the ammo. Be aware that over 2 sprays you may start getting some interesting mixed reactions. It is very unlikely but possible. If you do don’t try to exceed the dose where you detect it. It should be a very fun product and excellent for your social life.

Yepp, [Ammo](https://a314.com/product/ammo/) would be a great choice for a next test. A lot of people have said that they only see minor differences between IO and IH, so Ammo may prove more interesting for now…

25th January 2008

Today tried a single shot of ammo (as suggested), applied to the chest.

Once meeting. Two things were different than usual: first, I was wearing ammo, and second, we were meeting an hour earlier, and the client was more tired than usual, since he had just gotten home from work.

I was in great form on my way to the meeting, and during it. I felt completely confident and comfortable and in control. This happens sometimes, anyway 🙂. At one point, in response to a particularly spirited comment by me, he got a bit annoyed (uncharacteristic), dismissed my comment, and moved on. For a while he was a bit quiet, and a few minutes later he was cheerful and easy to deal with again. At the time, I though this was some kind of -none reaction. Actually, it make more sense to think that he was tired: for one thing, momentarily losing concentration, become exasperated, and then recovering is a pretty typical symptom of tiredness. If it were due to the -none, I might expect that it would have been a mood, not just an incident. Perhaps both factors contributed.

In shopping, travelling, and so on afterwards, I again felt supremely comfortable and in control. I realise now that ‘self-effects’ arise as much from my interpretations of other people’s body-language (etc.), as from simply inhaling the pheromones on my body (which presumeably also has an effect).
