The exception would be if you were very physically imposing/unapproachable or had a very high natural none signature and needed to soften your impact considerably. For IH - Yes, you probably could. I often find 3-4 sprays good to initiate deep, close conversation. Its not exactly first date stuff (unless combined with IS) but on subsequent dates, it really helps you get close.
