I’ve been looking for pheros to help me feel more focused, I’ve got exams and essays coming up, so I need something to keep me focused on the task at hand (I tried TAF at varying doses, but it either does nothing or makes me incredibly distractable, I end up focusing on about 5 things at once and nothing actually gets done)

So, is there anything better suited to the task than TAF? Anything I could get to use with it that would help? Or is there anything in my current arsenal (listed in my sig) that I could use (with or without TAF)? I’ve read some stuff about some of the putatives helping (but it was mentioned that only the experienced people should mess with the putatives) and I saw Steve liked using MEO-EST with TAF, but after reading Tisha’s review, that might not be the right one to try either.

I know that being new to the phero scene makes me seem less of a candidate for the experimental stuff, but I love to try things out (I’m a scientist at heart), so I’m happy to give anything a shot. Plus my classmates are in the same boat and are willing to try anything to help them study, so I could even get a decent range of test-subjects going

Motivation, concentration, inspiration, anything to keep me on the studying wagon. Hit me with your best ideas, I’m getting desperate

You can try TAF which is good for focus. Makes you pay attention to detail more. Its a advanced experimental product but alot of us use it and like it alot. Only thing is you have to pay attention to time because your so focused on the task at hand it can take longer then normal.

Oh and the advanced products dont come with the guarantee just so you know ahead of time.

I’ve tried TAF without much luck. Tended to either do nothing or scatter my attention too much. I know about the guarantee thing, it’s the risk everyone takes and I realise I can’t get lucky every time

Honestly, using a mone as an enhancement for concentration is pretty iffy. Sure some have reported some benefit to TAF while many, like you and I, weren’t so fortunate. Plus for most of us the effects tend to fade as we become accustom to them. The only thing that works for me is isolation from distractions (a dark cave does well here), proper tools and resources at hand and a looming deadline. Oh, and plenty of caffeine (coca leaves are even better). Once I dig in to the task, I have no sense of time and forget so eat, sleep or pee until it’s done.

I second that notion for [P93](https://a314.com/product/p93/).🆒

What are people’s thoughts on lower amounts of AndrostEnone for focus/concentration. I know higher amounts of AndrostEnone make me too angry, aggressive and horny to focus properly (unless its sex I’m focusing on 😃) but **what are people’s thoughts on using lower amounts of this molecule for focus/concentration?**

TAF alone doesn’t focus me either. You can try it with one of the Putatives to give it more focus. [P93](https://a314.com/product/p93/) is very good with TAF for a focused forward moving motivational. I find with the two of these used together I have to choose what to be focused on and then it is full steam ahead. Some people report that P100 with TAF is good also. I found the combination to be too amphetamine like for my tastes, but I haven’t tried P100 alone.

So the general consensus is that TAF helps concentration?
Has anyone with ADHD/ADD used it for that or noticed it as a “positive side effect”? (I have a vague memory of reading a post by someone with ADD who thought it was fab).

I’ve got ADD myself & would definitively be interested to try it, not as a stand-alone but as a complement to my normal dex maybee.

Yup, that would be me. I have ADD, not ADHD. TAF really helps me focus, and it gets me motivated to do stuff - but only when I wear it with [P93](https://a314.com/product/p93/).

Others have reported when wearing TAF that they notice a multitude of details they’ve never noticed before, and want to stop and appreciate the abundance of detail around them, etc. MHarris’s original posts on this molecule are really very facinating. If you want to do a search on the molecule you’ll find it and a lot of others. I read all those posts and think, “Heh…! Welcome to my world.”

The kind of ADD I have is that I am so overwhelmed with so much detail and stimulus that I have difficulty wading my way through to organizing it all and decide what to do with it. I get so much detail coming in unfiltered that I have to shut down everything and intentionally ignore it. It comes across as being not motivated and distracted… but that isn’t it at all. It is trying to choose between the incredible wealth of information, sensations, and visuals, _and not being able to_, that is so overwhelming and makes me shut down.

TAF seems to mute the incoming stimulus way down so that details don’t overwhelm me and I can choose what to focus on. The muted nature of stimulus coming in feels really _quiet_ to me when I wear TAF alone. Its only effect other affect on me seems to be a lack of anxiety and a feeling of being exactly where I should be doing exactly what I should be doing.

I’ve tried Ritalin and had a horrible reaction to it. I was on Buspar (15 mg four times a day) for a long time and that also made me very motivated and able to focused on individual details. And I may yet go back on it. I’m not looking forward to the circus physicians put you through now a days before they offer a new prescription. And I’ve been off of Buspar for over 10 years. Why did I go off? I lost my insurance at the time and was a single mother, and it was $270 twice a month and you have to take it 4 times a day, and I was on a tight budget… \<grrrr…\>… in other words, because I had no choice.

I’m not currently on any medications, except Nexium for acid reflux, and Advair for asthma.

One more thing about TAF. When I wear TAF when Putative testing, it instantly ramps up whatever the Putative is doing. With TAF those kinda vague “I dunno exactly what this is doing…” feelings change and everything comes into sharp focus for me with both depth and detail. I don’t know if this is some kind of synergy with TAF or it is just that TAF lets me filter out everything else. I plan on doing further testing to try to pin that down.

Lest I get in trouble again, I am NOT recommending that you use TAF in place of your regular medical routine or in place of your regular medical care, or recommending it to you for any purpose whatsoever. I’m just sharing my experiences with you.

But if you choose to test TAF and find it as helpful as I have please tell me about it.

I also should tell you that some people find they get an amphetamine like reaction to TAF, and some find it makes them jumpy and more prone to a fight-or-flight response that is unpleasant.

If I wear a lot of TAF, intense visual stimulation can make me quite jumpy, but I don’t get any adrenaline-like responses with it or increased proneness to a fight-or-flight response.

Sounds very similar to me actually, I might give TAF a go. Especially if the effect is amphetamine-like, I’m sure it would suit me then as my dexedrine is just that… and dex suits me better than ritalin. I wont use TAF alone though as I have to take my meds as a requirement to practice medicine (much like an epileptic is only allowed to drive if the epilepsy is fully controlled by meds).

Just one thing though…you mentioned you take something for acid reflux? If its a so called PPI (proton pump inhibitor), its not a problem, BUT if its an antacid like gaviscon or pepto-bismol, i.e the calcium or bicarbonate acid neutralizing drugs …be careful if you end up going back to a stimulant (ritalin, dex or adderal) as the carbonate will inhibit the break down of the stimulant which leads to serum levels ALOT higher than you normally would get…so you end up over medicating the stimulant!
That wont be a problem with buspar though as its got a completely different mechanism of action.
A bit off topic from phero’s but I thought I’d mention it 🙄

Right. Buspar (buspirone) is a partial agonist for the A-1 serotonin receptor. It is an SSRI, normally used for anxiety and to tone down OCD like behavior, and not normally used for ADD. It almost gave me OCD around getting stuff done. So, I had what most physicians would consider a paradoxical reaction to it. But the doc that prescribed it is an expert on the drug, so he knew exactly what he was targeting and how it would work for me. And it was right on the money.

One caution I don’t see much about buspirone is that it is also a mixed agonist/antagonist on postsynaptic [dopamine](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dopamine) receptors. One of my sons was diagnosed with GCAD (generalized childhood axiety disorder) and place in a trial of buspirone. We had to withdraw him from the trial when he began going into a seratonin feedback loop and also developed vivid, horrifying hallucinations. Thankfully the half-life of buspirone is very short.

Nexium is a PPI.
