I’m a huge fan of vanilla scents like Angel for men, Rochas and “heavier” scents like the Amouage line. I keep a bottle of Poisson Hypnotique just to sniff at, as it is the closest thing I have found to the ultimate scent (alas, I am not female or gay, so I could never wear it without getting strange looks).

I have found that [Sables by Annick Goutal](http://www.annickgoutal.nl/en/fragrances/sables.html) acts as an excellent cover for all mones, as it seems to have what I can only describe as a “rough” scent. A whiff almost seems punctuated by a staccato effect, like the molecules are hitting the olfactory nerves with fractions of a second between each impact. This is how I feel mones affect the nose, too - at least my nose.

I picked it up at Saks in New York a few years back. This is not for younger men (I’m 37). It is definitely different, and avoids the usual “smells like citrus” cliche of almost all mainstream perfumes for men these days.
