Woh, why isn’t there a thread on this yet? I just checked in once since months and thought I’d tell you 😃 Scientists got one step closer to the development of the male pill. They developed a pharmaceutic that reduced pregnancy rate in mice by 100% and, this is my personal highlight, will not affect testosterone level; which means, your [pheromone](https://a314.com/) production as well as muscle growth and sex drive etc pp. stay the same. What it does is merely inhibit the production of a protein necessary for the sperm to swim and survive. 😮 I’m not posting this in studies because it’s not pheromone related, obviously. It will probably take 5 years until it gets on the market. This magic pill can reduce forced pregnancy by a lot; you surely heard of cases of women exploiting the lack of men’s reproductive rights, deceiving them into fatherhood by lying to them about contraception, poking holes in condoms or taking their boyfriend’s semen from the used condom so she could force him to marry her or get his money? Well i hope those pills not making people stupid. U know not wearing condom even with strangers.. I predict that many kid will get venereal disease.. ---

Not stupider than the female pill made people. It’s basically the same. Nothing to worry about. But yeah, I get your point: which is why I asked for an anti-every-STD pill next, that’d at least solve another main problem 🙂 ---

I don’t know if you’re serious, but vasectomy has worse downsides, some life threatening (dramatic increase in prostate cancer risk, needs another surgery if you want to have children) than what we can assume the male pill to have. The male pill is nothing new, I’ve been seeing articles for at least a decade now saying “It will be on the market within 3-5 years” the entire time. It’s not likely, there are a LOT of sperm in an ejaculation, all it takes is one. It’s far easier to control (typically) a single egg at a time. ---

I haven’t seen those - I’ve only seen those saying that it’s in development. There was no big success achieved on mice at that time. Now they basically got the formula and are permitted testing it on humans. And it can be 894583457835 times as much sperm, you remove a key component for their effectiveness so they all become useless. We’ll see if it’s really easier to control a single egg - as you mess around with hormones that way, bearing nasty side effects. We’ll see if the male pill has bad side effects, I only know that scientists are convinced that the effect of the male pill cannot have such.
