Molded under the watchful eye of Rupert Murdoch, News Corp. continues to evolve and serve as a model for the modern vertically integrated media conglomerate. Aided by the acquisition of 20th Century film studio, News Corp. went from primarily a newspaper company in Australia and England to an influential force in American media. The Fox Network broke ground in the late 1980s as the first successful broadcast network to break through against the powerful Big 3. Recently, viewership for its Fox News Network surpassed the once formidable CNN. This proved to be another sign that American viewers favor News Corp.'s irreverent style.

Fortunately, we are rapidly outgrowing the need for the monster. Unfortunately, he will soon eats the internet.😮

Content filtering is closer than most people realize. It will most likely start as a “lack of bandwidth” or some other plausible excuse, then filters “because of the children” and so on… Same old story, and a gullible populace buys it because it doesn’t affect “American Idol” or reporting on what Britney didn’t wear under her dress today.😛

A spoof ad I saw on another site for Diebold (the voting machine company) said: “This Presidency brought to you by Diebold. You don’t count because we don’t count.” Same with the news. If Rupert’s minions don’t report it, it NEVER HAPPENED. Go home, Citizen. Nothing to see here…☹

Why shouldnt Rupert be entitled to create his empire. Alexander created an empire, so Ghengis Khan, Napoleon, Hitler, but they killed and butchered their way into history.

Rupert Murdoch didnt kill any one,

Pitched battles have been replaced by boardroom battles,
Invasions have been replaced by hostile takeovers
Kingdoms uniting have been replaced by mergers and acquisitions
Emperors have been replaced by cheif executive officers

What else is rupert supposed to do.

Glory to news corp

Why shouldnt Rupert be entitled to create his empire?

Because at some point your news will all come from one source. The opinion of what is truth will be controlled by one man. The little guys won’t be able to compete, or will be absorbed into the maw of the beast, or be destroyed.

If News Corp says it’s good to drink Drano, that will be the only opinion presented.

We can say the same for religion.

Didnt every religious figure come with a do and a dont.

Karl Marx .. religion is the opium of the masses…

The TV is a relgion, and the media are just modern day messiah, never seen a TV advert calling on others to kill.

Rupert Murdoch is an Emperor, and the point i am making is that News Corp is the new Roman Empire.

Business has replaced global politics and mercantile/colonial expansion of the nation state.

Business now performs those functions of imperialism, more cost effectively and without military consequences.
