I actually like the complete Idiot’s guide books. and the dummie’s guide’s too. Granted I’ve never picked one up to explain the finer points of religion, but i do like the layout and structure for getting a grounding on less esoteric topics.

When I first heard about the Dummies and Idiots books, I refused to buy them on principle. I remember joking that I was going to write a whole series of “For Dipsh\*ts” or “For Total Losers” books. But then one day I needed a beginners book on Excel, and I caved.
