Thought I’d stop in and say hello (the 15$ doesn’t hurt either). My names Dan, I’m 20 years old in college. Never really put much cachet into pheromones, thought they were in the realm of pseudo and/or bunk science so I was excited to find out that this appears not to be the case. I just order a bottle of [Instant Shine](https://a314.com/product/shine/) (I thought it might help for my performance on our college’s debate team) and am contemplating either A314 or Ammo as a secondary purchase depending on my success with Instant Shine. Hello Dan Welcome to the forum 🙂 Shine is a good product, I think you will enjoy it. Dont know if it would have been my choice for the debate though. It sounds like a very interesting test and we look forward to hearing how it go’s. I would have choosen A314 for you, for the debate. Its the Alpha respect, trust mix. It ups your status. Has some nice powerful confident self effects to. You have to be outgoing during a debate so I think you could wear this product well. I understand though wanting to try things out first as A314 dosnt come in a to-go size. Be sure to use your shine in different enviroments not just when debating so you can get a feel for what it really does. Its a great mood enhancer and gives off a vibrancy that attracts attention. Be sure to read up in the mens forum the best ways to use this product and all the others. Look forward to your results. Tisha ---

Welcome to the forum Dan! If you are within about 5 feet or so of your opponent your pheromone signature might have possible effects on your opponent. Be careful what product you use. Pheromones have as much if not more effect on the wearer than on the target. I would not wear any pheromones for a debate for this reason. You would be better off spraying the opponents podium with Spaceland and watch them loose their train of thought. Wearing A314 might help you and your teammates to feel more confident. Wearing Turn Up The Heat or Raw Power might help you and your teammates to feel more aggressive. You will have to decide if this is a character trait that you want your team to have during a debate. [Instant Shine](https://a314.com/product/shine/) will help make the wearer and those in close proximity to the wearer have a more upbeat and content feeling. I am not sure that this would be much of an advantage in a debate. Let me know your thoughts on the advantage wearing Instant Shine might bring to you while debating. DrZorters ---

I was under the impression that [Instant Shine](https://a314.com/product/shine/) was a confidence booster for both the user and the victim. Is this not the case? Or is it simply that A134 is more useful in this regard? I am very interested in testing this out; it will be a testament to how subjective the format of debate I participate in is. -Dan ---

Hey Dan.. I used to be in my uni’s debate team. Coincidentally I had a senior named Dan 😛. Hope it’s not you! You’d probably want something which builds trust and rapport, so when you lie, it’s hard to detect, and so you come across as intimidating to the others.. A314 would be useful in this case.. However, A314 might be too strong because if you’re the type of debater who incorporate sarcasm into debates, too much intimidation can be a bad thing. You don’t want people to be too scared to laugh. Definitely use Instant Shine, you’ll be much more approachable, especially when debating in a crowd where it’s much more important to have the audience love you than have utter fear for you.. Later on, you can ask the guys for mixes which will give your A314 a more hip vibe, very useful indeed for debates. But for now, I’d go for Instant Shine and A314.. Maybe not [Instant Openness](https://a314.com/product/instant-openness/), you don’t want the opposition to be talking too much, now do we? 😛 Plus ask the guys around here for ideas on how to make the opponents weak. Spray something to them before the debate starts! By the way, what is the debate format of your college? ---

Usually my college does American Parliamentary format, but recently we’ve been doing a lot of British Parliamentary. Thanks for the advice Lizzie, it all sounds perfect. I do often use a good deal of sarcasm while debating, so that warning about coming off as too intimidating is indeed an issue–one that I hadn’t thought about at all. I’m not sure about spraying the opp side with something to make them weak…that might be crossing an ethical threshold; hell, my use of [pheromones](https://a314.com/shop/) might be unethical. I guess it’s sort of like doping for debate? Could have a debate about that itself. Very interested to see the results. Thanks for the advice everyone. ---
