Layering them on the skin is far better than mixing. Simply spray the first layer, wait a minute or two for the solvent to evaporate, apply the next and so-on, then any cover scent.
Akuto is one of AD’s scents - a slightly musky, masculine scent, slightly similar to Body Kourous. Its the standard scent for a couple of products and quite good. It also complements many good colognes you might use as covers. The instants and TUTH are all in Neroli which is a light orange blossom scent - dries very light and easy to cover.
You can custom order in a number of scents but to start off with, it is best to stick to 6% Neroli or Akuto - You will greatly limit your potential dose range if you go for anything else.
Yes, the newbie kit is an excellent start - Far better than getting into mixing and dosing putatives with no warranty, incomplete testing and limited experience of pheros - build-up some experience with the consumer line and maybe earn your RU status first. - you then get half price on putatives MXs etc and other benefits, so its well worth it 
For early 20s in clubs - Have a look at TUTH/IO/IS - Good sexual kick, combined with an approachable/chatty vibe and a happy/feelgood layer.
