Hi Guys

I am 22, Male, Chinese, and a PhD student in statistics at UCLA.

I heard about [pheromones](https://a314.com/shop/) through a friend and really interested in the science and effectiveness of these sprays.
I am completely fascinated by the stories and the fact that there is no conclusive study done around this topic.

Things I am interested in:

1. Race
2. Dosage
3. Gender
4. Mixture/Combo of products
5. Measurement of effectiveness

It just seems that whatever you do it’s hard to quantify the result, which is likely compounded by the placebo effect anyway. I have been thinking for the past couple of days, to devise a comprehensive research plan to study the effect of pheromones.

anyhow, I plan to ask people on campus to take a sniff at a piece of cloth and record their reaction. But this just seems remedial for it doesn’t take into account the reaction time nor the interaction between environment and the combo of sprays. Age is also restricted.

I hope this thread can serve as a starting point for some brain storming.

finally, from what I have read, people on this forum are really friendly and I am happy to be here.

-Ran

Hello Ranman

This survey proposal of yours sounds excellent. It looks to be a very objective study, which is what we all want.

Do you need recommendations on products to test with?

Hi, Ran. Welcome to the forum! 🙂

This sounds very interesting. You seem well qualified and you’re very local. (we’re located right near the Pacific Design Center and Napster, on the Beverly Hills/WeHo border)

If you can do it economically, I’ll provide the chemicals and funding necessary.

I can also provide consulting time with Dr. Eric Knowles, one of the most renown researchers the area of persuasion. You come from different disciplines, and I’m sure he could help with your study’s design.

If you’re serious, send me a private message, and let’s make it happen!

Well, I just ordered 4 of the things
A) Instant Shine
B) [Instant Openness](https://a314.com/product/instant-openness/)
C) Ammo
D) Turn up the heat

I am a bit concerned about the amount of variation there could be.
you can use any combination of sprays and vary dosage

I suppose I can go with one spray for now and get an experience rating at the end of the day

Possible combos:

1. one level A, B, C, D
2. two level: AB AC AD BC BD CD
3. 3 levels: ABC ABD ACD BCD
4. 4 levels: ABCD
5. maybe I should get a baseline measure for contrast

the effectiveness would probably change as time goes because I imagine it will probably take some time getting use to the pheromone effects and start picking up reactions from people.

maybe each day I could try a different combo though my day to day live varies that I switch between school and work during the weekdays and some party/clubbing during the weekend. which could also impact the results.

still a lot to think about though

IDEAs?

Hello ranman,

Great to have you here in Pherotalk 🙂 Ok i see that you are going to do a survey proposal which i got to agree it is a good one 😃

Well Lady Jasmin of Androtics have given the thumbs up to your proposal there, so congrats on your proposal plus your order on phero here too 🙂 I will explained further on the pheros you have bought there to help you in your proposal there.

Instant Shine is used to boost your confidence thus breaking up the shyness & make people feel good/comfortable being with you, [Instant Openness](https://a314.com/product/instant-openness/) is used to breaking the ice with girls thus to a better, easier & smoother conversations & AMMO & TUTH is used for sexual attraction but just be careful not to get OD with the dosage of TUTH as it also contain more Androstenone compared to AMMO which is specially buffered. To know more about OD, move your cursor to the word OD & it will show all about it 🙂

Hope my info helps & i wish you all the best in your survey proposal 🙂

what’s the best way to quantify the results? I just woke up and I am still puzzled by this problem. I suppose we can put a person under the MRI and see if there is change in the brain waves but I doubt we understand the brain enough to know where and what to look for. urgh…

on the plus side, I think my pheromones are coming in a few days.. sweet
