Hi!

To be perfectly honest, I have never given my scent that much attention. I have used colognes to a minimal extent, but more out of some vague social pressure than a genuine interest. This is to say that I never lucidly understood the purpose and significance of smells, detected consciously or not. But thinking upon it, I have had ‘chemistry’ with some people, which seems to be independent of the purely visible qualities.

I just finished reading the novel [Perfume by Patrick Suskind](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Perfume_(novel)). Its main character sees the entire world in scents; he is an olfactory genius. I won’t give away too much, but it is worth checking out if you are interested in…smells. The highly detailed internal monologues that only fiction can afford made me think about the merits of scent and its deep effect on human interaction. My interest was piqued, and I found this site after some Googling about colognes.

Anyway, I’m now very interested in [pheromones](https://pheromonelabs.com/). I want to experiment with different scents and find out how people react to them, in an almost scientific fashion. At least that’s what people on this forum seem to be doing.

Thanks!

Welcome to Pherotalk. 🙂

Scents are only part of the story here - The scent is mainly the carrier to get the pheros into your system where they exert influence in other ways.

That’s not to say that certain scents/scent components don’t have significant evocative/stimulation properties all ther own of course - which is a worthwhile and rather fun study in itself.

If you have a read of this:

Then give us some idea about your potential for using pheros and the sort of situations you might use them in so we can give some suggestions that might help start you off. This will also earn you the GC to help get going.

Ah, thanks for the link.

I’m a male college freshman living in New York. I am dedicated to my studies, which occupy most of my thinking. I therefore feel a little stilted in social interactions, in that I inwardly consider relationships are of secondary priority to ‘abstract ideas’. This tendency of mine competes with a longing for a more powerful social presence, one that makes my ‘inner’ personality visible and of course attractive. If people had to characterize me, they would probably say that I’m polite, and kind of equivocal. Equivocal, thereby making myself invulnerable to criticism. My thought process is usually like this: “if I disguise my true intentions under the guise of irony, I won’t be disappointed either way”. Of course, this annoys people. I’d like to be honest without seeming sentimental.

Ideally pheromones will help me to communicate my intentions with more confidence. As an example, I act somewhat feminine to gain the sympathy of others, and as a result have many female friends. (This may sound manipulative, but it’s really a second nature.) On the other hand, I find that I’m a confidante, not looked upon as a potential partner. I’m not physically unattractive or overtly awkward, it’s just that I might exude a sense of subtle self-doubt. I’m ‘cute’, but not ‘hot’, which is fine I guess. I’d just like to be more self-assured and fluid in my interactions with people who I’m not very familiar with. With strangers, I spend a lot of time floating in hypothetical scenarios, which rarely are materialized. In doing so, I don’t accomplish much.

I don’t really expect the pheromones to produce an instant change. I’m not exactly sure what the ideal change would be, but I think it would have to do with being perceived as distinctly beta…

If this post seems too vague, please let me know and I can clarify.

Welcome Nickles,

Your name sounds familiar. I am not sure why

Anyhue, I would start with the social products like Shine to give of that youthful, vibrant vibe and make others drawn to you

I recommended this products first because I get the feeling you are giving of a stand offish vibe and you need to be seen as more approachable

In addition, shine goes well with the next product I am going to recommend

Ammunition ----\> to give that confidence boast and also a strong, masculine vibe

Let the ladies know you are interested but subtle enough to be worn daily

**Your gc was issued!**
