Hello everyone! I take it this is the place for introductions. My name is chris, I’m male, and am currently an undergrad at the university of Utah. I was born and raised in salt lake city; and can’t complain as I’m an outdoors type of person. I can’t say exactly how I came across [pheromones](https://pheromonelabs.com/shop/), but they definitely piqued my interest right away. Naively I bought some dubious products before realizing that isn’t the proper way to try something. By nature I am quite timid, and so I think my biggest desire w/ pheromones would be to be more comfortable in social environments. As far as the scientific aspects of pheromones I can’t say that I know very much. I have read general articles on androstenol, androstenone, etc. but am very interested in learning more. I’m studying psychology now, and am very excited to see the effects of pheromones on psychological aspects of myself and others (am hoping to write on this as I understand more about pheromones). Anyways, thanks for reading this and I am excited to talk with all of you on various parts of the forum. ---

Hi there Chris, Yup,this is the place for introductions.Thats cool that your an outdoors person and like the place you live.Hmm,what types of outdoor activities do you do?Rock climbing,hiking?Pheromones are definitely fun things to play around with but there are definitely a lot of dubious products around. Generally anything making claims that sound too amazing usually dont work that well(:-p)Good that you ended up here instead though and can give some of the stuff a try.Since your timid,could give instant shine and instant openness a try.The instant shine will put you and the people around you in a good mood which will make you and them feel more comfortable and the instant openness will make you and other people more chatty so it will feel easier and more comfortable to keep conversations going(^_^)They just help though,you still have to do the talking and work up the courage to be social but every little bit helps(^_^) Haha,wouldn’t worry about not knowing much about the scientific aspect.Lots of good and interesting information to read here and im sure you will catch up in no time.Thats cool that your studying psychology.have a friend whos learning it and she says that its really interesting.Should be fun to read your journal when you start one if your doing it from a psychological view point.Will make an interesting read.All the best and hope your testing works out for you.Dont hesitate to ask if you have any questions. ---

Hello Chris and welcome to the forum. Yes there is a lot of snake oil out there but you have found a place where they have the real deal. Well if you are studying psychology you will now be in the middle of some pretty interesting experiments. You will have a lot of fun being in the middle of it all. There is a whole lot of information in the abstracts. The interesting part of all this is that all this information is out in the open but because of all the wild claims and snake oil out there everyone pretty much does not believe. If you want proof then I would give the alpha-nols a try. IO really works. All the chatter drives me crazy sometimes. Another good first product is IShine. Let us know what you decide to do. ---

Welcome Chris, i can tell you are eager to learn more and this is definitely the place to learn and research more whilst in the company of like minded people 🙂) What topics were you specifically interested in? the social lubricant aspects of pheromones perhaps? i would recommend that you investigate the social pheros first as you indicated you were shy. Specifically [Instant Openness](https://a314.com/product/instant-openness/) which as you have probably guessed makes meeting people easier. i would also recommend Instant Shine as it has great self effects and makes you feel like a rockstar (well me anyway lol) It basically adds a sparkle to your day to you and others. Thanks for the quick replies! I previously tried a alpha-androstenol based spray, and had mediocre success. The company wasn’t the most reputable and it seems very hard to use the right amount. On the bottle it recomends 3-4 sprays yet that seems to be to much (I’ll get headaches / feel tired) but w 2 sprays it seems okay. Instant shine or openess sounds like where I’ll most likely start. Also regarding my shyness I would say it’s non existent in 1on1 situations just in large groups. Would IO still be good for this? Also I can’t say I know all of the possibilities of pheromones but is there a pheromone that would give off an alpha vibe? Again thanks for the feedback ---

Again thanks for the feedback Interesting about the headaches with the other spray.Alpha androstenol is a pretty good [pheromone](https://pheromonelabs.com/) normally and is one of the main components of instant [openness.IO](http://openness.IO) will still be good with groups,it will generally affect anyone in the general area and that your interacting with so is a good one for group situations.For 1 on 1 situations,i prefer instant honesty.For an alpha vibe,you can look into A314 or instant gentleman.Would probably go with instant gentleman though since its a more relaxed alpha vibe and you dont have to be as confident to pull it of. ---

Also what part of the forums require a password? > > Thanks Those should mix fine and there are quite a few people on the forums who use that mix.You would be able to mix it in pretty much any situation where you want a bit of a mood boost in your interactions.The part of the forum that needs a password is the A314 section which you get access to when you buy the A314 oil. ---

Welcome to pherotalk Chris! In terms of needing a password for the forum I think you are referring to the A314 section. Please note that in order to receive a password you to have purchased a 10ml bottle of A314 not the 5ml bottles. Send me a customer support email and I will get that out to you right away.
