Well Nate this is a great place to find an introduction to pheromones. This site is full of literature on the stuff. Most useful (in my opinion) are the experiences of users in the Men’s Journals subforum. Here actual users document (more or less scientifically!) their results. There is a HUGE set of data from actual users.

As with many things, the application of pheromones depends on personal chemistry, you should count on some adjustment time - experimentation if you want to look at it that way, before you get the hang of things.
