I didn’t know whether to post this in the lounge or here.

I want to know what does a woman/lady do to make you feel like you are the only man in the room? That makes you feel like it is all about you? non-sexual.

Yes, please tell. Specifics, not just generalities, please.

Some of us just love to give our guy the feeling that he is king, that we have eyes for no one else. Tips, advice, honest feedback all appreciated.

Nosemolester, it was a great idea to bring this up. Reps!

Well, just make sure you REALLY think it’s all about him. That’s enough. If it’s really all about him, you should have no problems making him feel confortable enough.

If you suggest, even if in a total innocent way, that you feel attracted to some other guy as well, you won’t make him feel like “the only man in the room”.

I don’t think comfortable is what we’re looking for, though. Think superstar, object of attention and adulation, top of his game type of feeling.

If I’m off base on this, nosemolester, please step in here. I don’t mean to hijack your thread.

Well, I kinda used “confortable” in that context…

I’ll make it easy for you ladies, even though some guys may not like to show public affection holding his hand in public, giving him quick passionate little hugs every now and then, and basically just showing that you love him in public with little gestures like this _for me_ personally really raises my pride and confidence in a relationship and shows me that you love me and are not afraid to show it to the world. So I’m sure this is a great way to make a guy feel special, even though as mentioned some men may not be all into the “mushy” public affection (I can be that way at times too,) it’s still nice to have a girl do this because honestly, deep down I think all guys want this even though they/some may not like to show public affection.

The fact that you’re trying to show this affection is enough to make a man feel special, just as long as you’re obviously being HONEST and TRUE about it. As I’m sure us men can spot false affection, so really I think it’s that simple. We’re not that complex, some of us just don’t like to seem/act like we need that affection but really we do. It’s just that whole “trying” to be tough thing some of us have going on, we don’t want to seem too sissy lala. LOL.

Here is my favorite, I do a variation of this to ladies…

get close to him as if you are going to embrace, look into his eyes, turn your head a little, smile to your favorite side no teeth, look down then back still holding the smile, one hand to his face, kiss on the lips / cheek. Say “I just wanted to do that”, then walk away and go back to what you were doing.

That is called a reward, but “I wanted to do that” implies he obviously did something to warrant it, then you do a takeaway by walking away and he just wants you more.

If you do it right, he should be a bit stunned, and then he will think about it… it will get to him. 😉

* * *

Now what is something that gets to you ladies, keep in mind this must be some that would be spontaneous and with someone you have just met. IE. something that he just did out of nowhere and you just loved. Something within the first 10 minutes with him.

I couldn’t agree more! As a general rule us guys are ‘doers’ by nature and when a woman shows genuine affection it really hits home for us. 🙂

So there you go ladies, not that hard. Even with what djandarial said, it’s basically the same thing whether you want to call it a “reward” or not LOL. I mean, we all want to be awarded and shown that we care by sweet little gestures like what we just mentioned. And honestly, sometimes we men want to do the same thing! Although probably some prefer to do it in a more private place with not so many people around, but then again some of us don’t mind especially when that love that makes you not care to show it is present. However, just because some men don’t do this **doesn’t** mean that they don’t love you, as mentioned some of us are just afraid to appear too mushy to other people or men LOL.

Think of it as in the 40’s and 50’s, when girls used to be more “proper” or old fashioned with men. Not to say that girls nowadays aren’t that way, but you got to admit that girls nowadays are more independent (and I’m guessing more independent and careful on their emotions as well?) So in a way the future has made us lose that old fashioned lovey dovey values I think we once had, you know like drinking from the same milkshake with just two straws while looking at each others eyes. I think all men want this old fashion affection, but just fear appearing (as mentioned) too mushy or awkward. That “teenage” 50’s innocent love we once had I think is something we all wish we still had. However, things are just so different now and thus has made it harder in this department I think (knowing how to make a man feel special.)

Eye contact says it all. Don’t stare him down, but at the same time don’t look around the room or at anyone else. He’ll think you’re bored.

Unbroken eye contact signals to him that he’s the centre of your world.

Touching his hand across the table, footsie under the table. Fleeting and subtle touch will keep him wishing for more, even if he won’t admit it. 😉

Not comfortable - SPECIAL.

Eye contact is definetly my down fall, plus a tad bit of shyness. I must triumph over this.

This said something to me.

Vangelis Assumption: For you it is about the words, right?

Communal consensus: Seems to be about the touch and the looks.

Vangelis Advice: Make your eyes and your touch speak and **say** what a great man he is.

…
My two cents.

The lady that I miss still today used to do a couple of things that on the distance, now that I thought about it, makes me sigh.

Responding to this post makes me realize why: I was the man, the center of the universe.

Some of the things she would do when in a public gathering, party or social event.

a) Wink her eye to me. Let me tell you something, she was not a natural winker. I am. Therefore, it was uber-special as her blinking was more a facial disfigurement than a sexy sign; hence, I new she was doing it as a sign of mutual conspiracy.

b) While engaged in male conversation rather debating profound ideas (we like to think we know how to fix the world ) or just arguing why my football team is fantastic (which it is 😉), she will come close to me, place her hand, if sitting on my shoulder, if standing next to mine while subtly playing with my fingers… The spirit of the touch was such that it felt as if by her fairy touch she was letting everyone else know who the lion king was. It was subtle, non-intrusive, non-needy… It was gently, softly and because of that… loud and clear.

c) The other thing, when she looked from the other side of the room or just as our eyes encountered each others while sitting next to each other, her sight in that particular instant (it was surprising and unexpected) will be saying how great I was, no questions asked, no judgment, no demands (at least not in that particular moment 😛). A radiant look reflecting the shines of the diamond in the man in front of her. It might lasted one second, one moment it was there, the next she was back to her interacting with the universe. A priceless instant.

I guess I am just saying the same that every other gentleman has said. So, just to say I agree.

\<sigh\>

Darn!!! I was the King of the World, no wonder why loosing that relationship hurt so much. Now I need A314 to make up for that lost feeling of ruler of the universe 😃😃😃

Thank you for making me remember the moments of beauty; after the brake-up, the pain, the anger and the mourning I haven’t revisited that other side for a long time. I hope I contributed at least one cent. 😉

My intentions are not all charitable. It is true that I love to build him up, to make him feel that he is the emperor of his own little dynasty, but there is a selfish aspect as well.

You see, when my man is confidently, unabashedly the ruler of his domain, and he knows that he has my adoration and respect, he behaves differently. He has an arrogance that is not there at other times. He is demanding and insistent sexually, not in a selfish way, but to provide pleasure for us both.

I have just finished reading an old thread here, from 2007 I think, about being a gentleman and treating a woman with kid gloves. Yuck. I like being treated like a lady just as much as the next girl, but once we’re home and headed for the bedroom, you can leave that outside the door. Please don’t make me initiate, or lead, or take up this dominant role that is singularly male. I suppose it’s fun at times, but as an aside, not as a constant role.

I have few inhibitions, sexually or otherwise. If you’re looking for permission to begin, that’s one thing. But for him to constantly look for cues, directions, ideas from me is a turn-off. If I’m not enjoying things, I’ll let you know. I am thrilled to be swept away by a strong, confident, even arrogant man who will brook no resistance and is determined to have what he wants. When my man feels like he is the king, this is the treatment I receive. When he is not feeling securely enthroned he gets wishy-washy. So, in the end, I guess it’s selfish on my part. Although I think we’re both benefiting. 😉
