Hi - I’m a somewhat newbie to to all of this. Just wondering how many sprays do you suggest to wear? Should you be able to smell the [pheromone](https://pheromonelabs.com/shop/) all night long? I find that I spray 1 x or 2x, and I end up smelling it on me all night long and it almost makes me sick (I find it stinky) or I get a headache!! I usually just spray it at the back of my hair or the back of my neck. What am I doing wrong? or does this mean that this pheromone is not for me? or am I overdosing? If you are layering (ie, MX135 and Instant Sexy A), how many to wear each? Would some of these newer products (ie. Lust after Me, Drive him Crazy, or Come Talk to Me) be better choices for me? What is the shelf life of the products - I bought mine about 6 months ago - would they still be alright? Also, I see that lots of users use Pink Sugar - I am in my 30s, this is perfume too young to wear for me? Thanks everyone for your suggestions - I need all the help I can get to get a man for 2008! ---

Most people report self-effects like headaches, tiredness, etc., going away after a week or so of use. That was my experience too. ---

Foxy, you’re not doing anything wrong! Stick with one spray of one product until you know for sure which product is a bother for you, so we can then work together to figure out how to fix it. The [pheromones](https://a314.com/) are good for many years, if stored in a cool dark place, so don’t worry - they are still active. Most people either get used to the smell, find a way to cover the smell with perfume, or they spray it in places that will minimize the smell for themselves. If you spray on the back of your legs, or on the outside of your elbows, you’ll smell it less, in the meantime - if the smell is really a problem for you. I diluted MX135 because I found the chocolatini smell too strong for me. I used the perfumers alcohol from the Androtics supplies menu. Also, don’t expect the pheromones to do it all for you. They prime the pump, but you still must smile and strike up a conversation, and be approachable, etc. ---

Hi Foxy I’m happily using Pink Sugar, it is an amazing scent that can vary on my skin and never fails to earn a complement from women and men. You can get a nice sized sample at Sephora if you have on local, I’ve also seen samples available at [fragrance.net](http://fragrance.net) and ebay. If you have a preferred scent you don’t have to go with Pink Sugar. I do agree you need to test your products more to understand what each one is doing to tailor your future combinations just for you. Tisha has a post in the stickies explaining a test plan. Once you understand which each does it is much easier to start wearing them together but I do understand the want to spray everything on and see magic. We all did it, just be sure to go a few days of single product testing between the combination applications too. To avoid strong self effects try spraying away from your face until you’re are better acclimated. Back of neck and wrists are usually my choices. I wouldn’t dilute the products just yet. Give yourself more time to test them as they were intended. Which products are you having problems with? ---

Hi Foxy Inkling and the guys has given you great advice. Start with one product at a time. 1 spray split to wrists this way you can was it off before bed easy and give yourself time to get accustomed to it. The scent of the pheromones should only last about 6 hours and then it begins to fade. Keep in mind that pheromones are stinky, they are supposed to be. 🙂 Using a cover like pink sugar really helps and will help you get accustomed to them faster. I never used them without cover when I first started but now that I am used to them I do all the time. I am 42 and I love pink sugar and so does every man who smells it on me. (sidenote) I saw a sephora bag stuffed in the back of my husbands walk in closet when I was putting laundry away today. Ok sorry back to pheromones LOL. I have never kept my pheromones from here for very long. I use them up pretty fast cause I love them but they should last a few years if kept in a cool dark place like your closet. Thanks everyone for all of your helpful advice. I had been trying (whenever I went out for the last couple of months) Sexy A, MX135, Openness, Honesty, and Shine (not all once though!). I know that Shine gives me a major headache and makes me grouchy - not too shiney at all, so I think I will stop it. Also, Sexy A has that horrible smell and it also puts me in a bitchy mood, so I may have to find something else instead. MX135 and Openness seemed to work for me and I found people changing their behaviour positively to me as well. However, I think I will order some Pink Sugar (I was also using J’adore or Maybe Baby as covers) and perhaps only use 1 spray of pheromone for the time being. I thought perhaps since I could smell it on me quite strong, that others could smell it too and it was turning them off!!😕 ---

Foxy you’re having the exact problems that I had in the beginning. You might try to soften instant sexiness up with tah, instant openness and or instant honesty. I can handle 1 spray with out negative self effect and do see results so maybe try that too. If it is just a to go size make sure to request [instant sexiness b](https://phera.com/product/kitten/) next time if you can. It only comes in a full size bottle but it works for me with out being over the top. Hopefully a to go size of instant sexiness b will be offered in the future. I still occasionally have horrible migraines while using instant shine. Trying to figure out the reason behind it as I have noticed I’m not in pain every time I wear it anymore. I’m starting to believe it may be cycle related. If I do wear it I spray far away from my face as possible and have gone as far as spraying my pant legs to make sure I am not affected. I believe Inkling is correct and it is cycle related especially with the IS/A because of the cop content. Try it at different times in your cycle and see if your mood is any better. MX135 has cops in it as well but the chocolitini covers it well which is why I think you dont notice that same smell your getting from IS/A. MX135 is not making you bitchy because of the TAH content. You may be a more IS/B girl then you are a A girl. I do believe inkling has hit the nail on the head. Spray shine away from your face to the back of your body until you become more accustomed to it. yep, me too! I got grouchy with [Instant Sexiness](https://phera.com/product/instant-sexiness/) A but loved MX135, TAH and IS/B. After I had been using pheromones a few months I tried IS/A again and I can wear it now, although I still prefer the effects of IS/B. I’m a little too in-control (some say bossy!) as it is, and IS/A increases that vibe. I like the softness, playfulness and relaxed vibe that IS/B, MX135 and TAH bring out. ---

Personally, I find that even 3 sprays of the Instant products starts to be an awful lot of neroli. So a cover scent over that is a lot to deal with. I wear a cover over heavy copulins. I sometimes also wear just a hint of a perfume so that I can give that name when asked what I am wearing. In MX135, the chocolatini is a strong cover scent already. So adding perfume to that could get stinky. Like others have said, if a mix affects you negatively, don’t spray it near your face. If you like how it makes you feel, spray it where you can inhale it easily. Good luck and thanks for coming back and posting!🙂 Kitten ---

All this advice is wonderful!! Thanks again everyone. Its good to know that others have had the same problem with IS/A - I thought maybe something wrong with me! Next time I order, I will try IS/B and I think I will try the MX134. One last question - how close do you have to be to someone for them to “pick up” on you/pheromones to be effective? Read only the first paragraph iof the first post (sorry, internet time VERY limited)… mix with a perfume (NON-ALCOHOLIC!!) or use a different one… the perormones are made to last, duh, if they didn’t last then what good would they do you? Especially when they are so extremely expensive most of the time… if you cannot find a non-alcoholic perfume use essential oils. Alcohol destroys the pheromones. ---

I read the first paragraph of the first post and have no ideal where you got this ideal. Alcohol with not harm the mones or androtics would not use it in there products. It will however distroy your natural mone output if you choose to wash in it or something. Synthetic mones are different. People suggest EO’s because it causes a slow steady effect as opposed to the faster harder hits of a alcohol based product. ---

I remember reading that when I was first starting out years ago, I can’t remember the site name but they sold their own assorted dupe scented androstenone vials. It was a ridiculous site full of nonsense and hype. ---

The site I read that on did not sell their own product, but I don’t have the link since I’m on public computers and almost everything I looked at was through google and this was yesterday. But it would actually make sense to me to say that, obvioulsy only the chemists know abuot the pheromones like that, but alcohol does destroy a lot of other things so it made sense to me… sorry if i was wrong. ---

I’m an eternal teenager who plays video games and if I live to be 90 I’ll never be old enough to be a parent. Yet you see 22 year olds who ought to be confined to lavender water! One thing I did do - I rounded the smell out. To use a sound metaphor - when I mixed it with one drop of cops in a small bottle the smell had a lot of bass (cops) and upper mid (PS). It seemed to me there was an ofaculary gap. I filled that by adding body shop vanilla perfume and a tiny amount of chocolate and strawberry oil. Sound mixing theory has it that each instrument in a performance should have a small range of frequencies it is loudest at (regardless of the timbre of the instrument), and other instruments should be tinkered with so their primary frequencies do not clash. It gives a nice clean, crisp non-wooly sound. You can do some really intricate and complicated music if you separate out the sounds like that. I attempted the same with the perfume. Not sure how far exactly I can use music theory for perfume mixing, but its smelling good so far - and you can detect each component with none cancelling out, or clashing, with any other - if you know what you are smelling for, yet the overall effect is seamless. So I’d say if it seems a little too girly for you, find some simple edible-type perfume oils and see what mixes you can come up with? ---

My stepmother is 44, acts 44, and likes different kinds of perfume. She wouldn’t wear anything like Luv’s of course, and she doesn’t particularly like the fruity smells herself (though I doubt that’s to do with her age). But she likes all kinds of scents, from things such as White Diamonds to random lotions from Bath & Body Works, and she likes glittery pens and stuff too.
