Hi! my name is Dani…new on this site and to the whole pheromone thing in general. I thought this may be a good way to learn about them, what they do, and how they actually work. I know that much of a persons stimulation can come from smell, but my understanding is that [pheromones](https://pheromonelabs.com/shop/) work with the chemical compound, and not off the actual scent, is that right? I’ve looked up a little bit and a friend of mine had a sample of Androstenone (i think?). And it actually smelled pretty bad. I was hoping to find one to try out that I don’t need to use a cover-up scent for. Are there any on the market that actually smell good but are still effective? Im a female, and really not into smelling like musk 😉

Hey Dani, welcome!

Yes pure androstenone does in fact smell pretty bad. People’s perception vary about the scent, but to me it does smell kind of pissy. It’s a masculine mone btw, that shouldn’t be used by females. And Yes there are [pheromone products](https://a314.com/shop/) on the market with a cologne strength scent added to cover up the mone stench 🙂

Tell us a bit more about yourself. What do you hope to get from mones? In what situations and around what people do you intend to wear them?

and welcome to The forums. Androstenone is Probably one of the smelliest of the mones and is definitely strong to sensitive individuals. i would recommend you look at some of the [female pheromones](https://phera.com/) on [www.androsticsdirect.com](http://www.androsticsdirect.com) like Instant Sexiness or thwe Instant openess. What are you looking at in terms off effect are you looking to attract? or to improve your social engagements?

This is a super informal and not so tailored response if you will.

I would luuuuuuuv to spend more time assisting you especially since you are a newbie.
