I have read that a product called Growth Flex V which contains arginine and ornithine can make one lose a lot of belly fat and increase HGH levels significantly.

The question I have is why does this stuff make my brain tune out completely? Anyone else get this? It’s like it because hard to think. I wonder if its burning up all glucose in the bloodstream…?😮

I’ve taken a lot of supps and I find it hard to believe that those two would make you lose belly fat. It’s all claims, IME the better your diet and timing of your meals will be the factor in losing that belly fat.

It’s difficult to impossible to spot reduce. Where your body chooses to store bodyfat as it increases, as well as in what order you lose it when cutting weight is largely genetic.
For a lot of people the ab area is where they gain it first and lose it last, not much can change that.

Your best bet is to add as much muscle mass to the chest and lats as possible to create the illusion that the waist is smaller than it actually is.

As for HGH, Yes arginine, and ornathine have been shown to support growth hormone production, as has L-Glutamine.
The other factor not considered however is that HGH and Insulin are connected and have an inverse relationship…meaning that HGH is highest when insulin levels are low (like when you first wake up and haven’t eaten since the prior evening)
Some guys will do a growth hormone specific type of training called “German Volume Training” in simple terms stick with basic compound movements at a weight you can handle for 20 straight reps, then do 10 sets of 10 reps each with that weight, taking only 60 seconds rest between sets. The pump is insane and this style of training can make GH levels skyrocket.

Follow up the last set with a very intense and long stretch of the muscle you just worked to stretch the fascia. This stimulates production of IGF-1 (which has a weird relationship with both GH and Insulin)

Wait about a half hour before taking a High G index/High Carb post workout shake and then as your insulin spikes, your GH levels will drop…the point where they sorta meet in the middle, is the ideal environment for your IGF-1 levels.

That said I don’t see this as having much effect on belly fat. GH has some fat loss properties but it’s a very mild fat burner compared to thermogenics and smart diet.

Actually what those two aminos (and a couple of others) do is as follows:

They are precursors - building blocks - to HGH. Normal HGH production drops off as we get older. But if the materials to make it are there, an increased spike of normal production will occur.

HGH is the thing that causes growth spurts in kids, and it’s very active in pregnant women, people recovering from surgery/wounds, and it is also active in increasing muscle mass.

One of the side fx is an OVERALL burning of body fat, to help fuel the growth. Yes, it does work. If your body fat is principally in your belly, that’s where you’re going to notice it. But it IS all over, and not spot reduction.

Personal experience:

1. I had a partial hysterectomy in '97. (If I’d had a full one, I wouldn’t have had the issue I had last year, but oh well.) I took these aminos - dubbed “GH releasers” in the bodybuilding community - during recovery. I was supposed to have follow-up checkups at the 1-week, 3-week, and 6-week stages. At the 3-week stage, the surgeon released me, telling me I’d healed faster than anyone he’d ever seen; I was past the normal 7-week stage.

2. I have been using the same formulation (I like the “Amino GH Releasers” by Anabol Naturals) since I’ve gone back to the gym and begun serious workouts (as in, not the original, getting-some-strength-back, but the full, gung-ho let’s-throw-some-iron-around workouts) and once more they are contributing to rapid muscle growth and bodyfat loss.

Now, there are two times that HGH levels peak. One is during a workout, and the other is during deep sleep. Therefore you should take the supplements either an hour before workout, or an hour before bedtime (AT bedtime if like me, it takes you awhile to konk out). ON AN EMPTY STOMACH. Obviously other aminos from proteins are going to interfere and possibly divert these aminos into other activities, and carbs screw up the whole thing. If you get the munchies, eat a slice of cheese; fat does NOT interfere with the process.

There are two side effects.

If you take it during a workout, you are likely to get nauseated. I have thrown up during workouts on this account. It is the exact same effect that induces morning sickness in pregnant women. This can be countered somewhat by buffering the lactic acid being produced with sodium bicarb - baking soda. But only somewhat. Which is why I prefer NOT to take it before workouts.

If you take it at bedtime for extended periods of time, it can cause insomnia. Used to be that if you took something to help you sleep, it interfered with the mechanism and prevented HGH release. However, I’ve found in recent years that sleep aids are sophisticated enough that they don’t seem to interfere. Still and all, laying off it for 3-5 days, up to a week, if you get insomnia isn’t a bad idea.

You don’t say when you’re taking it, but if you’re up and about I’d say you’re taking it either first thing in the morning (does no good); after a workout (does no good); or before a workout. It may be that you are getting some mild nausea fx that your brain is interpreting as spacy. If you are taking it at night, it may be that you’re having some mild sleep interference, and the next day you’re interpreting tiredness as spaciness.

Tell me when you’re taking it, and how much, and I can help you adjust your dosages for effectiveness and minimum side fx.
