I posted a discussion about mixing concentrations a while ago:

> I think the confusion here is the type of mixes being discussed. As the first and following posts of this thread indicate, the topic in question is mixing components together in a bottle and juggling the concentrations and amounts needed to produce a mix with a specific yield of each component per spray. I believe what you’re commenting about is more towards applying individual components separately by either spray, dab, or drop from a bottle. If I were to try to apply a drop of 5000 mcg/ml …

You can use either EtOH or DPG as a dilutent depending on the duration of effects that you’re looking for. Using more EtOH results in a faster diffusing mix that has more immediate effects, whereas using more DPG results in a slower diffusing mix that has effects accumulate over time. You can adjust the ratio of EtOH to DPG to adapt your mixes to the desired effectiveness rate, and both components are good for use in a to-go bottle.

For the mixing calculation, let’s assume the following:
E = concentration of EtoH in a component
D = concentration of DPG in a component
E\_EST = concentration of EtOH in EST at 1 mg/ml
E\_X = concentration of EtOH in Dilutent X
D\_EST = concentration of DPG in EST at 1 mg/ml
D\_X = concentration of DPG in Dilutent X
E\_Mix = concentration of EtOH in a mix
D\_Mix = concentration of DPG in a mix
Conc\_EST = concentration of EST in a mix (%)
Conc\_X = concentration of Dilutent X in a mix (%)

To calculate the E% and D% in a combined mix, use the following formula:

E\_Mix = Conc\_EST _E\_EST ] + Conc\_X_ E\_X ]
D\_Mix = Conc\_EST _D\_EST ] + Conc\_X_ D\_X ]

For EST at 100% EtOH, E\_EST = 100%, D\_EST = 0%
For Dilutent X, E\_X = A%, D\_X = 100-A%

E\_Mix = Conc\_EST _100% ] + Conc\_X_ A% ]
D\_Mix = Conc\_EST _0% ] + Conc\_X_ 100-A% ]

For example, with EST in 100% EtOH, let’s say that A = 50%. In a 50% EST / 50% X mix, this gives us:
E\_Mix = 50% \* 100% ] + [50% \* 50%] = 50% ] + 25% ] = 75% EtOH
D\_Mix = [50% _0%] + 50%_ (100-50)% ] = 0% ] + 25%] = 25% DPG

Have fun 😃
