Ok, I did a salive testosterone level test and these are my results

estradiol 0.8 pg/ml range 0.8-2.2
progesterone 11 pg/ml range 12-100
testosterone 159 pg/ml range 44-148 (age dependant)
DHEAS 4.1 ng/ml range 2-23 (age dependant)
Cortisol Morning 4.5 ng/ml range 3.7-9.5

So that’s definately screwed up and points to hypoadrenia. I was wondering if anybody knows enough to throw out some posibilites, ideas, treatement, other diagnosis, etc.

Thanks

I’m not a medical professional.

Only 2 of your scores are outside the normal ranges. If you are concerned you may want to go to an endocrinologist and get some blood work done. I suspect that will give better results than a saliva test.

Increased levels of testosterone could potentially point to a number of potential problems, and a professional will do a differential diagnosis to weed them out if he thinks there really is something wrong.

I wouldnt be surprised if sniffing [pheromones](https://a314.com/) as we do has effects on testosterone levels, and other hormone levels. I seem to recall some studies documenting this effect for copulins, and not much is known about the effects of many of these molecules.

I’d certainly be upfront with any doctor concerning pheromone usage if you seek his counsel though.

What test did you use/where did you get it?

[ZRT - ZRT Laboratory](http://www.zrtlab.com/) I used their testosterone test kit. It screens the other hormones as well.

The results they sent mere were pretty impressive in format, and the directions were very clear and well written. They even include one of those plastic medical envelopes and a return mail sticker.

Very professional. It took about 3 weeks (maybe a few days longer) from my inital order to get the results.

I will have to say that spitting in a tube is a little borring and troublesome, but smelling lemon juice like they recomended helped a lot.

The prospect is far better sounding to me than peeing in a cup thank you…

ok - have you had an endocrinologist diagnose your results as hypoadrenia?

i don’t see anything there that should tweak you - the first 2 female hormones are adequately low, Cortisol is healthier on the lower side, and DHEAS i’m not sure about.

But I’m not a doctor - and I’m only good at interpreting my own bloodwork, only because my Endo has told me what are appropriate levels FOR me, lab ranges irrelevant.

My suggestion is to go to an endocrinologist and have him or her take a look at your bloodwork, and help you fromt here, if you do need it.

I’m working on the whole doctor bit, but I don’t have insurance.

As for the low levels of the other hormones, they actualy are a problem. Progesterone is produced by the adrenal glad and should be at a much higher level. The progesterone prohibits the converstion of androgens to estrogen, and testosterone to DHT.

The DHEAS is low for my age and should be between 10-20 at my age and steadily drops to levels of 2-9 at the ages of 70-80. Now that is definately not right, and the main indicator of adrenal fatique, as well as the progesteron as it is created in the adrenal glad.

Having low cortisol levels are not always a good thing. Cortisol is vital to ones metabolism and regulation of glucose for energy and brain functions, and to optimize ones immunse system.. It points to low adrenal reserves and hypoadrenia/adrenal fatique.

If this lab paper is right, my adreniline glad said, “Hey, fuck you, i’m taking a break, perminantly!” lol 😛

i think you need to work on getting yourself an endrocinologist.

all the self-diagnosis in the world isn’t going to get you proper treatment one way or the other.

Nunya’s right; how are you going to effectively supplement your hormones without a prescription? Not to mention the expertise required to balance and fine-tune the various hormones.

yeah, i’m still missing a lengthy post as well.

Pheromones probably do have a decent effect, but I didn’t use them for a couple days prior.

oh, the DHEAS levels, although not out of range, are that of a 70 year old man. 😛

Hi Toil

Did you check a doctor? Any update on your levels? How are you feeling?

Shit Phoenix! Your rep points exploded!

Um… Still working out insurance. It will take a year to get into a doctor because it will be considered a pre existing condition and i’m not that wealthy. Basicly I have to trick the insurance company. I’m pretty sneaky though.

Thing aren’t that bad actualy. I dosed off my mood stabilizer and am doing fantastic without that chemical influence, so I’m sure i’m on the right track. I still can’t drop weight. I started suplementing to see what happened and I got a massive 3 day headach so i’m decided to wait until now when i’m off my meds and then dose each one up individualy

licorice 500mg, dhea 50mg, centrum performance for a few of the trace minerals and other things, and some Phosphatidyl Serine 100mg

all once a day. I’m going to start that up again in about a week. I need some b5, but I can’t find it.

what’s the licorice for?

If i recall correctly - too much licorice can cause a pretty serious condition.

here’s a little info on it:

[Licorice](http://www.peoplespharmacy.com/archives/herb_library/licorice.asp)

I remember my dad saying soemthing about electrolyte imbalances from too much licorice. I think he was talking about the potassium depletion. headaches apparently are a side-effect of too much/chronic licorice use - i think due to the potassium depletion - i’m wondering if that’s your culprit.

Let me ask you - what are you trying to accomplish with your supplementation?
