Where do the [pheromones](https://a314.com/) come from? Random people? Plants?

What equipment is used to extract the pheromones?

What equipment is used to refine the pheromones?

Yeah, I wasn’t sure where to post this, but I was just curious.
Thanks.

Pheromones - the ones we buy in bottles are synthesised molecules that are made in a laboratory.

Some come from Plants and some come from chemical duplicates of the molecules.

Some vendors use animal mones but not here although Jasmin has mentioned using musks which is different then mones.

Whoops didnt see you other question. Well there are some specialized equipment like the Chromatograph but mostly basic standard lab equipment.

I’m just curious because I was wondering at the potential cost of this equipment. I suppose it’s taboo to talk about this on this forum…
I wouldn’t be doing anything large scale that could compete with androtics direct (if I ever even did anything!) but more a local business as there are non here in east coast Canada…
Would I need to have a profound knowledge of chemistry and biology to start a small business in this? I’m in business school and I’d really like this as a part time thing to do…

Again, I wouldn’t be competing with androtics direct enough to take even one of their sales. Just something I’m curious about…

Can you buy [synthetic pheromones](https://pheromonelabs.com/shop/) without any perfume? If so, where?

Thanks.

Yes there is a lot of places actually but since you new to this i would start right here.

They sell unscented high concentrates right in the experimone section you could make mixes with. i would call and just order them unscented.

From what I understand you can use those in making you own mixes for sale but you cant resale there Experimental mixs, consumer mixs, or sell them as straight molecules. You cant connect the Antrotics name of trademarked or copywrited products or product names to your product.

There are some labs were you can get molecules in dry form and liquid. in fact Androtics gets there from one or more of these labs. They dont synthesis everything in there own lab. Its best to use American Labs. I cant list them here because its not allowed.

Thanks! Could you send them to my email? Or is that not allowed either? I found one website here in Canada that produces various pheromones and I emailed them. I’m waiting to here back from them.

With the “pure and unscented” phero’s here that you can buy for mixing, how do I know what pheromones are in the thing? I only see like P34 and all that gibberish. I really don’t get what it means… Where is the name of the phero?

Thanks!

The “P” things are experimental putative mones. What you want to do is go the “Experimone” section of the store where the named single mones are sold.

I just did some basic math, and if you were to buy from androtics and use the same quantities of phero’s per spray as androtics, you would not make a profit at all unless you charged much more for you products. I’m sure they purposely did that to make sure their experimone series didn’t help start competition… I’ll look to other companies for pure pheros… Thanks anyway.

If its Molcan’s steer clear. They import from China and over charge for poor quailty mones. With poor quality you dont get results or return customers.

They dont reveal the name of the putatives because they are suspected mones. Most mone companies dont have them in there mix anyways. Androtics is different and explorers more possibilities.

The maintstream mones you would start with are Anone arone anol bnol.

A1 and EST can be bought in a chem lab but are patented by erox so they are not supposed to be used in a mix. You only need to know the chemical name if your not buying from here and since its part of the research that go’s on they wont list that info.

Love scent also offers some of these.

I dont want to violate anyones trust so I wont email my sources but if you use google and do some homework you should be able to find some good labs.

Thanks Tisha! It was molcans. I wasn’t aware they import from China. Thanks for the warning! I’ll have to do some research… You know something? I said I wasn’t really going to be competing with androtics so I probably could make a bit of a profit… I’ll have to do some accounting it seems.

Jasmine mentioned that one molecule Androtics was looking at having synthesized in enough quantity to do a test batch was over $650,000. So, it can get very expensive to hire a lab to do this.

Most of the cheap pheromonal molecules come from China, and since there are quality control issues and contamination with chemicals coming from China (the US Pharmaceutical industry is facing numerous lawsuits over using contaminated China-originated products, like heparin and other products) it isn’t recommended that anyone go for the Chinese stuff at this time.

If you did get a hold of some cheap products with impurities, what would the purification methods be?
I would guess that pheromones would have low boiling point so crystallization may be out of the question. Maybe a fractional distillation or a steam distillation? You would still need some verification that the sample is now pure, like NMR or HPLC which you could get done at any college with a decent chemistry lab.

It depends on what the impurities are. You would first have to ensure that you even have the product you ordered. When it comes to china, they are masterful at masking the deceit by substituting cheap molecules that give the same profile. For example, melamine substituted for protein in infant formula and pet foods. One is poison, the other a nutrient; one is cheap, the other expensive; both give the same nitrogen content assay. It took deaths before anyone even thought to look for something wrong. So unless you know what to look for you can’t even begin to clean up something.

It would be cheaper (no potential law suits) to get a reputable lab to synthesize clean molecules for you. That way you know what you have.

IMO it would be idiotic to buy anything from China until they get their acts cleaned up and thoroughly.

Sigh, my family and I have been saying that for as long as I can remember. We’ve stopped buying any Chinese products years (decades) ago. My parents and their brothers/sisters even have a list of major products, UPC codes, and companies to not buy from due to their use of chinese products or the company itself. There’s a reason why their products are so CHEAP. If its too good to be true, it probably is too good to be true and most likely a scam. Cheap toys, cheap plastics, cheap products, etc eventually turns to cheap + deadly. You can only cut so many corners before you find yourself lowering the quality of your product. Then again, all these Chinese producers think about is money. That is ALL that matters to them. They don’t care about you, customers or anyone else except themselves.

Remember, good quality products generally costs a good amount of money. Think about it this way, use good products, make good products you get return customers. Use bad products, low quality and you not only do not get return customers, you’re also at risk of hurting customers (think lawsuit) and going bankrupt. Sure, your profit margin might not be huge if you’re using high quality stuff, but it’s generally a proven method of having a successful business. Good marketing + good product to back it up = lasting company (that’s just my opinion, have no background in business).

My my the intricacies of [pheromone](https://pheromonelabs.com/shop/) production. I admit its terrible what the chinese do as I’m a non native chinese who despises china for not doing things in the proper fashion. There is no apparent standard control of too many aspects of the market. It makes me wonder when all this pheromone synthesizing started.
