Well… I also got the feeling, based on the way they took the paying customers out for a night of sarging and pep talks, that a certian percentage of these guys had pretty deep alcoholism issues, or alcoholism just around the corner issues… and why do I think that ? Because they couldn’t get any game going without being in a very controlled environment with astounding amounts of alcohol… the next day our “instructor” comes in looking like he was plowed, the only other guy I know who pours it in like that is a professional pimp with a long and checkered history keeping the Hollywood elite in varying levels of altered states, and he’s a skinny white guy with the constitution of a battleship… he keeps asking me “why am I not dead ?”… and I keep telling him he has some far out genetics or something… and suffice it to say, this man has Issues with a capital I… so where was we ?.. learning to manage Anti Slut Defenses and the horrors of being Cockblocked and Kino Escalation and all this other stuff… no wonder the customers are confused… ---

By increment… each dance partner has to bring something of real value to the table… this means an investment of time… and accepting only partial payoffs and frustration… finding out that some things are flat out bogus, some are incomplete, some are brilliant, some are brilliant but fatally flawed, some take you to levels you never could imagine… there’s no Zagat guide, no GPS for the higher self… Like, OK… I feel like I’ve hit wall lately, the old solutions have me going in circles… hugely frustrating… there’s more good stuff around, can’t quite get a fix on it… so… hmmmm… maybe I need to purge something out before I can add something in… hell with it… I take my cable descrambler box in to the drop off location and ask them to turn off my cable service… time to become a television celibate for 3-6 months… this is NOT going to be a happy time… so after 72 hours my mind starts to detoxify… I’m conscious of this massive implantation of total garbage in my mind… just the most inane, pointless, low grade wasteland of drivel and info-tainment… it’s clear, television is an addicitive, hypnotic neurotoxin… my mind’s eye is riffling through hundreds of little internalized images, strange tones like the “bonk-bonnnk” of Law and Order… rotating roasting chickens, guys in the octagon of death pummling each other to tomato paste, ummmmm… Mystery himself… a vacuum cleaner that holds up a bowling ball… fatsos that weigh 800 pounds going in for stomach surgery… all with this very sophisticated trance inducing visual stuff, audio anchors a la NLP… Sooooo… time for mind flush… buh bye mr. cable box… instead I go chill out with my Emwave HRV biofeedback monitor and slowly but surely learn to move from low coherence to high coherence… while the mind-trash implants slowly dissolve… And all this for what ? I’m trying to do my own work on my own time so there is a clean(er) slate for the next move… ---

Sounds accurate enough, but then again, the Mystery Method is geared towards “club game,” so there is no surpise that the instructors would be borderline alcoholics. Mystery supposedly doesn’t drink, because of his grudges towards his father as detailed in The Game, but then again, somewhere towards the end after he and Katya started the war, he began to drink screwdrivers, so who knows where he’s gone since then? I’m sure the instructors who have taken over the bootcamps are borderline alcoholics. I’m not sure if you can link alcohol to their skillset, although I can see how you would manage to think that way based on your description - and, for the fact that many people ARE less inhibited under the influence. Yes, the terminology and the crazy structure that the Mystery Method entails is exactly what screws with the heads of those paying customers. The Game was an excellent marketing ploy/plug for the PUA community, and as only a few people have pointed out about the book, was written by an NLP practitioner. Neil Strauss is a bookworm, and he knew/knows what the hell he’s doing, which is why he fuckin’ banked on the Annihilation Method. As you stated in one of your posts, taking this shit mainstream is like intellectualizing porn. A few of these guys go to a bootcamp, try a few openers, fail…try again, succeed…leave feeling confident, and arrive home only to forget what they learned. What did they learn? That approaching is harmless, but they get confused with whether or not they followed the model correctly when they aren’t in the presence of an instructor. That’s why this cult following is doing more harm than good, because it installs a false sense of hope, rallying all of these positive emotions while promoting confusion. The best way take in the Mystery Method is to absorb its content, approach, and see what moves on from there. Get the idea of how it should be done, and then just do it your own way. If you fail, you fail, sooner or later you’ll succeed, and you’ll be a bigger man than just programming yourself to follow a how-to manual. You, tacitus, seem well aware of social dynamics in its truest form. In the grand scheme of things, most of these guys using these techniques, and canned openers are going to lose themselves, because they haven’t taken on the responsibility that self development is beyond PUA, and it’s a life transforming event from every angle of life. You might be able to pull a couple of (easy) chicks in a bar somewhere with a couple of parlor tricks, but in the end, you are selling yourself short by not bettering yourself into a man - a man is someone who is in control of all areas of his life, and is not consumed with a one-dimensional approach. Life is a game, and you do need to end it victorious, otherwise it’s all about chance, and unfortunately, that’s how most of society collides with reality (by losing control of their own reality). ---

I know that there is mad respect for these guys. My opinion is that what they are really selling is a formula to make guys appear more confident. I can’t stress this enough. - **Confidence is a huge turn on for women**. I’ve studied the Mystery Method and I like what I’ve read but as someone formerly in sales -he is so obviously selling something. Even looking at him: [http://www.mystery-method-blog.com/images/Mystery---Erik.jpg](http://www.mystery-method-blog.com/images/Mystery---Erik.jpg) He is so obviously trying to present himself as the “[Magician Archetype](http://www.mythinglinks.org/magic~granrose.html)”. There is nothing wrong with this -obviously peacocking works for him as both a seducer and a salesman. But don’t ever take the words of anyone else as anything more than suggestions. Perhaps mystery and others have good ideas but you should find your own path. My path experiments with different things -like pheromones. ---

I finished writing a huge angry diatribe on why a few of you are so completely misled, but i’ll save you the reading and just hit the major points. Mystery’s method isn’t just something he just made up. Its something we already do naturally. Some guys just need help uncovering whats already there. Just because you don’t need help doesnt mean someone else doesn’t. The nay saying thought process is dangerous. Just ask Galileo. If you can’t find him, pick up a book, they are just full of good stuff. Most of all, have fun when you go out guys. If you take this too seriously, no amount of lines, pheromones or anything else will be of any use to you. This is playful, fun, non-real life time. Enjoy it.
