Okay, so I finally got the nerve to ask this girl I like out. I asked her out via love letter because it was during finals week at our high school and I was exempt for that day, so I slipped the letter into her locker as I signed in and left for home shortly afterward. The next day, she calls me to tell me that she “was shocked” by the letter. She said that she would like to go out with me, but because I’m a senior and will be going off to college after next semester, that she would rather not. She’s afraid she will get too attached to me. So my question is this: How do I convince her to go out with me? This is the first girl that I’ve ever really liked, more-so than a normal like. I find myself constantly thinking about her and her very presence make my day better (I think I mentioned that in the letter I gave her). Thanks in advance for the help. ---

If you really like this girl then tell her that 🙂 Don’t try & persuade her, just be honest & tell her what you told us. Going off to College doesn’t have to mean you have to break up… ---

Thanks Xiphoid. I took your advice and told her how much she means to me. I told her how going off to college doesn’t mean we will have to break up. I also told her that I’d rather take a chance, see where it ends up, and have no regrets further down the road, than not taking that chance. I could sit here all day and describe everything that we talked about, but in the end she said YES!!! It’s still coming at me in waves, how great it is. It turns out that the REAL reason she initially said no was because she has never had the kind of feelings that she has for me in any other guy, and it kind of took her back a bit. I’m glad I was able to give her a chance to reconsider, and she said yes.😃 Anyway, thanks Xiphoid. In the end it was your advice that made that happen. I am eternally grateful. ---
