From reading through alot of the threads, it seems really up in the air in regards to the smell. Some people like the smell and get good compliments, while others say they smell like piss and get negative feedback. I’ve ordered A314 and some travel size IS and IO. Im just confused as to how these [pheromones](https://a314.com/shop/) are supposed to attract and get people to like and respect you if you smell? I would think a smelly scent would act as more of a repellent. Or are they always supposed to be covered up with a cologne? And if so, do I apply directly over it and how does that impact the effectiveness of the pheromone?

Everyone’s sense of smell is different. Some think high -none products, such as TUTH, smell like “cat piss”, whereas I actually kind of like the smell. There was even a poll recently put up for people to vote for their favorite mone scent. Some mones will smell better to you than to others, and some will smell better to others than to you. If you are worried about them smelling bad, you can do what most users do, and apply cologne or other cover scent on top of them. Just don’t overdo it on the cover scent, as this can be a turnoff to many people. Wait about 15 minutes or so after applying the pheromones to gauge how they smell. Freshly applied mones always have a stronger smell than they do after 15-20 minutes of “settling in”. Also, don’t forget that regardless of the smell, the mones are still there and will still do what they’re supposed to do, but all the mones in the world won’t help if you smell bad to someone.

I had a conversation with a Lady in the perfume store recenty telling her that some scents just stink to me like old sweat (like [Neroli](https://a314.com/product-category/scented/androtics-neroli/) does for me) like I haven’t had a shower for month. She said that it depends on my skin chemistry and the receptors in my nose and whether you are a smoker or not, Smoking changes your skin chemistry. When I apply Pheros or Cologne it needs at least 30 - 40 minutes till it settles. So about 60 - 90 minutes after applying both of them I’m ready to leave the house. Some colognes stick to me more than 24 hours and I really do not apply much, just half a spray from a Togo bottle each side of me neck.

Remember what may smell bad to you (male) may smell good to them (female). I had a few “cat pee” incidences but found a way to combat it. I would always stop by a few gal pals I knew for an “Opposite Sex Neuro Fragrance Evualation”. This was done pre and post prowl. If they said I stunk on the pre I’d go home, scrub, and reapply. On the post if I stunk it was too much ~rone that converted to ~none due to excessive perspiration. This helped me decided what and how much I could wear and when.

Personally I like the smell of most of the products… I especially like A314, ammo… the main ‘instants’ are really good too… IO, IS, IH
